Hi everyone!

As I’m writing this, a new patch release of Actyx is in the making, currently undergoing tests — it should be ready for download later today. This week we fixed a regression introduced in 2.14.0 that prevented old Node Manager versions (i.e. before 2.9.0) from successfully managing the new Actyx version. And we got rid of (the cause of) a warning message that you may have seen when reconnecting two nodes after a longer period of solitude: data exchange requests (a.k.a. bitswap) were dropped due to an overloaded internal resource. Of course syncing still worked, but it was slower than necessary.

You may also have noticed some work on the developer docs, where for example “How Actyx works” got an infusion of AQL. Other places, most notably the “Business logic” section are still unchanged, we’ll work on those and the chat example next week.

And as a preview of what will probably also be released next week, you can already see the upcoming SwarmObserver doing its work when enabling trace logging: set the environment variable RUST_LOG=node::components::swarm=trace,info and run Actyx with it.

Have a nice Second Advent Sunday weekend!

Roland
