What you need:
-------------------
- Dytter ProTrack + JumpTrack software (to read out the freefall data)
- VirtualDub freeware (www.doom9.net / org)
- VirtualDub VobSub filter (allows to position the subtitle line anywhere in
the video etc)
- If you want to use your original DV AVI file in VirtualDub: The Panasonic
DV codec.
I wrote a nice little MS excel macro that converts my ProTrack data from CSV
into a SUB file that can be used with the TextSub filter. The point is that
the macro "extrapolates" the height& speed data (measured every 0.25
seconds) to every *frame* (that is, 0.04 seconds when using 25 fps, me math
genius uh?)
Gives you a smooth countdown of exact-as-can-be freefall data that you can
blend into the video.
Just drop me a line if you need it and I'll mail it. I might write a little
freeware program for ease of use if there are enough requests.

HA! You had no sympathy for me and my kids and money woes, so stop your
whining. ;o)

Hey Donna,
Would you like me to email a picture of me in my outlaw t-shirt?

Hmmm, I could do that too. Gotta actually take the pic first though. Maybe
tonight. Then you can drool over the shirt that "might" come with a number,
that you're too nice to get.

By the way: I highly recommend visiting www.100fps.com for all you video
filmers out there. It just says it all about deinterlacing and resizing
aspect ratio for DV!

Never said I was worth drooling over. Hell, ask anyone. Ask Ofiddle, I'm not
the "drool over" type. Nope, nothing special about me.
Well, nothing special except for that outlaw shirt...

Why not send the CSV files to a friend who got Windows + tell them the frame
delay for each SUB file.
To clarify here an extract of one of my SUB files:
{1035}{1036}3430 m 207 km/h 57 m/s
{1036}{1037}3427 m 208 km/h 57 m/s
{1037}{1038}3425 m 208 km/h 57 m/s
{1038}{1039}3422 m 209 km/h 58 m/s
{1039}{1040}3419 m 209 km/h 58 m/s
so you need to provide the number of the first frame, i.e. the "delay" for
this very movie. Takes a little joggling while looking at the exit/opening
points in VirtualDub to see which frame fits best to be the first frame of
the ProTrack data.
Uhm duh!!! now that I say it: You would have to create several SUB files
with different frame delays to see which one fits best to the movie... so
you better let your friend create several files up to some +/- 50 or 75
frames (relative to the exit) in 10 or 15 frame steps. (Gives you about 10
files, one of it should fit).
The ProTrack isn't that exact anyway, but hey it looks cool in the movie.

The interpreter is NOT from Microsoft, so of course it is free.
www.activestate.com
There is also an ASP perl dialect, so you can stop the pain
of having to write ASP in VB.

Then a java file then. Can also be made double-clickable. And the
court says that the evil Microsoft must include the latest Java
in their OS, or remove .NET so as to not give it an unfair
advantage.
And that evil MS company is trying to force UK companies into
bankrupcy by using methods that are clearly unethical, illegal,
and probably criminal as well.
See http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/7/28724.html
A company using methods like this should not be allowed to do
business.

You could also convert the Excel sheet to Star Office.

The sensor is pretty good, it is probably you that are causing
uneven airflow. And mine agrees very well with my Garmin Vista
GPS which also has pressure-based altimeter.
