In addition to this being a travesty of epic proportions....

I love how he has it listed as "Ready for Play."

Of course, it doesn't come with a PC or a monitor. I'm not sure what what
his definition of "Ready to Play" really means.

In other words, he's selling a HACKED Space Duel cabinet...completely empty
(except for some joysticks, buttons and wiring) for a buy it now of $800.

Oooooo....BARGAIN!!!

actually most people in this group would have gladly ripped the monitor out
to fix a tempest or a star wars. So its not just the mame crowd killing
space duels :)

I wouldn't be surprised on thats why the cabinet is gutted to begin with.
The combination of the tinted glass on a space duel (allows for different
size of computer monitors) and generic space theme on the side would make
that a very cool looking mame project.

But really, with just some water damage on the bottom, its only $800!! I just
can't wait to see the particle board pieces of the wood leave a nice trail
across my rug every time I move it. Ummmm, how about turning the game on its
side and FIXING the damage and installing new casters, etc? Hmmm...gee that
would take time!

I got a chuckle out of the line "Wouldn't want to leave it turned on and
unattended - possible overheating hazzard "

Too funny.

He probably didn't convert it, likely it was already gutted, but still he
did an ass job at making a MAME cab.

Seems like he hacked up the control panel... and sigh... wired in some
"insert coin" buttons (seems like he couldn't figure out how to write up the
coins to his IPAC).

I did notice also how he:

- Added marquee and light (it's a space dual marquee, in a space dual
cabinet... what did he add?)
- Added original metal Space Duel control panel (as above... didn't the cab
come with one?)
- Replaced Side Panel Molding (ya mean the T-molding?)

What a twit...

steve

PS: Space Duel is MUCH more fun them Tempest! (as with any other 2-player
head-to-head game). My family still plays Puzzle Bobble head-to-head.

OKAY...

For all you nay-sayers, this is how you are SUPPOSED to convert a
space duel into MAME:

btw, i know it's a grav, but close enough...

He says he put the pc monitor in there to give an idea of the
space..... Thats where his head can go. He must be related to that guy
who hacked 12" off the top of that Tempest cabinet just to make it fit
in his bedroom.
Dumb and Dumber.
good grief!!
