Some questions, and in some cases my own intrepretations of the rules, for a
relative Newbie-

1) On a board such as Pit Row, where an oil slick may slid eyou onto a rotating
conveyor, do you rotate? (probably yes, or why else would they have the roate
there)

2) If I have an option like retro rockets which allows for extra movement, does

Situation: Twitch plays retro rockets with a Back Up program. Twonky is one
space behind and one to the left (from an overhead view)-

a) The extra movement occur first, followed by everyone's normal movement.

So: Twitch backs up past Twonky before Twonky moves.

or

b) The extra movement gets added on with the same prioity of the card played
with retro rockets.

So: Twonky moves forward one and gets pushed back 3 spaces by Twitch.

3) I'm still a little confused about flying. The rules state that robots "stay
on the same level; they don't fall down ledges or go down ramps, although they
can fly up ramps."

Let's say that I'm playing with the Canyon
If I'm on the upper level and fly over the lower level does this mean:

a) I'm still considered on level with the upper level. If so, can I cross or
occupy the same space as another robot as I am a level above?

or

b) I'm on the lower level but didn't get damaged by the the ledge.

4) Can I fly over portals, or do they still activate when flying?

That's all for now. Thanks!

No, you only rotate if you are conveyed there.

If you remain flying at the end of your turn (not with Frog Legs, for
instance).

Only if you stop flying, and then you fall and take damage normally.

I believe there's a list of "flat" devices that don't trigger when
flying over them, and I think portals are on this list.

There are NO options that allow you to remain flying at the end of your
"turn" (I assume you really mean register phase). Robots ALWAYS land at
the end of each register phase. Thus, you may fly over pits, but if you
end your move over one, you will fall.

I used the FAQs at:

To answer these.

If you slide onto a turning conveyor during movement then no, because
conveyors happen after everyone's movement. If a conveyor slides you
through the oil onto the turning conveyor then you are turned.

b) is correct. The option takes effect at the priority of the card and
flying robots affect other robots (unless stated otherwise such as Big
Jet).

a) is the answer for option that let you continue flying (like
robo-copter).

Portals are considered to occupy the entire square and affect flyers.

Robo Copter specifically states that you remain flying until the end of
the turn. This is the low level flying that still pushes robots, etc. so
the only time you have to worry about flying robots being in the same
square as other ones is when you're using boards with different levels.

I stand corrected. The card itself dose not state this, but the Armed and

I asked this question directly to Glenn Elliot, the designer of the
board. He says that a turning conveyer only turns you if you are moved
there directly by a conveyor belt from the proper direction. Why is
there a turning conveyor belt there? Glenn says it was an error.

Extra movement happend at the same priority as the robot's primary
movement card.

If a robot flies over the canyon, it will remain in the upper level
until its lands (which will generally be either at the end of the
register phase or the end of the turn, depending on the option). If a
robot is on top of another robot when it lands, use the landing rules
in Armed and Dangerous. Note that a robot does not normally take
damage from landing, even if flying above the current level. If an
option says the robot takes damage on landing (such as Big Jet), then
the robot takes an additional two points of damage for ever additional
level the robot falls. [This is another question I asked Glenn.]

Portals affect flying robots. They are also unusual in that they also
affect robots flying at a higher level (I cannot think of any other
board element that affects robots on a different level).

Not.
