Hello everybody,

I'm trying to install a solaris 9 on my laptop,
but my 3COM etherlink III (3C589D-TP) ethernet card is not seen.

prtconf -D | grep pcic

show me my two pcmcia slot
But they seem definitely empty!!!
Do you have any idea which can help me.

Thanks in advance

bye.

Look at his e-mail address again and I'm sure you can figure out the
answer to that question.

that doesnt mean your system is actually USING the pcmcia slots.

You have to check and see if the pcmcia drivers are loaded, and other good
stuff.

I would suggest either

a) doing 'modinfo | grep pcic' to see if the PCMCIA driver is getting
loaded

b) paying lynnsoft for their updated PCMCIA drivers

c) getting a buddy inside sun to update the solaris PCMCIA drivers for
you :-)

PS: If you do get things to work, be sure and let me know, so I can update the
solaris on laptops pages, reachable through

http://www.solaris-on-laptops.com

[ redirected to http://www.bolthole.com/solaris/x86-laptops.html ,
but the first one is easier to remember ;-) ]

There's a form on the website to submit new entries.
