I'm going to locally rmgroup comp.society.women and a number of other dead
groups as part of a general clean up of the news system in anticipation of
consolidating PITT's various news systems onto a single host.

Should comp.society.women get a new moderator, I would ask that someone
please send a newgroup.

Also, if anyone knows of still more "dead" newsgroups, please send the groups
names my way.

Many thanks,

Terry "Solemn and Serious News Czar and Garbage Collector" Wood

Spring cleaning, eh? Here are some groups that haven't had any news pass
through them in six months:

comp.dcom.lans.v2lni
comp.graphics.digest (moderated)
comp.os.eunice
comp.protocols.pup
comp.society.women (moderated)
comp.sys.apple2
comp.sys.celerity
comp.sys.workstations (moderated)
comp.theory.info-retrieval (moderated)
soc.human-nets (moderated)
biz.control
biz.dec.ip
biz.stolen

I'm not even sure all these are valid. Anybody else in a housecleaning
mood?

I'd be all for freeing this name up, or otherwise resurrecting this
group.

comp.dcom.lans.v2lni, comp.graphics.digest, comp.os.eunice, comp.protocols.pup,
comp.society.women, comp.sys.celerity, comp.sys.workstations,
comp.theory.info-retrieval, biz.control and biz.stolen should already have been
rmgroup'ed; at least, they have been at our site.

soc.human.nets and biz.dec.ip do indeed appear to be dead groups.

comp.sys.apple2? You must be joking! There are over a thousand messages in
that group on our system. Maybe you were thinking of comp.sys.apple, which is
another already-rmgroup'ed group.
