Niall appears at my window this afternoon, carrying bags of shopping
with him. A short exchange about the weather follows, and then we get
this little gem:

NIALL: You that Jaguar advert?

TIM: Which one?

NIALL: The one with the music.

TIM: Uh-huh.

NIALL: You know, the one with the words.

TIM: (unconvinced) Um, yes.

NIALL: I went to buy the CD today.

TIM: (Light dawns) Are we talking about Chris Isaak's 'Wicked Game'
here?

NIALL: Yes! That's the one!

TIM: It's dead good, you know.

NIALL: Yes, well, I bought the wrong CD.

TIM: So what did you end up with, then?

NIALL: (Hesitantly) Well, it wasn't Chris Isaak.

(uncomfortable pause)

NIALL: It was Chris Rea.

TIM: Oh good grief.

There followed a ten minute exchange during which Niall felt less than
happy about having to go back to the shop and explain how he'd bought
utterly, utterly, the wrong CD. Despite my espousing the joys of
'Driving Home For Christmas' he eventually left, looking less than
happy about the whole thing.

People of umta - unite! Tell Niall to get over his shame and have his
CD exchanged for Chris Isaak and to never do anything so silly again.
It's for his own good, really it is.

Tim.

ROFL!!!

Sorry, but this is seriously funny. Not so much for Niall, maybe, but
for us? Very, very amusing...hehehehehe.....seriously, though, you mean
to tell me you didn't laugh? Because I for one don't believe that for
one second. You probably hopped up and down, too.

Yes. Get rid of that Chris Rea thing. Y'know, there's also this
newfangled thing called the internet, with which you can check songs out
before you go buy CD's. Or you could always give the disc a spin at the
store, for example.

Fight the Evils of umta!

And, uh, Tim? Are you still alive? Or are you barricaded in your room?
Because, well, we both know that the security systems for those dorms
aren't enough to keep the Niall out. (and have you finished that Flash
thingy?)
