The actor Derek Nimmo has died following a fall in his home from which he
never fully recovered.
Nimmo came from a showbusiness family, his older brother Leonard moving to
America at an early age and changing his ennunciation and spelling of his
surname before finding success in the cult sci-fi TV show of the 60s, Startrek.
Nimmo himself overcame a stutter to find fame in the UK sitcom Oh Brother!
and similar clerical roles throught the 70s. He was also a regular on the
cult radio program Just a Minute.
His P-p-p-p-pick up a P-p-p-penguin will be sadly missed.
