While channel surfing the other day, I came across an interview with a
Brazilian swimsuit designer -- "Blue <something>". One of the
interesting comments that emerged was that, in Europe where the beaches
are predominantely topless, the women wanted more coverage for the
bottom than in Brazil. From which I infer that the beaches in Brazil
are _not_ topless.

Can anybody confirm, or comment about the coverage requirements and/or
conventions in Brazil?

Just curious.

On a related note, any recommendations for Caribbean beaches? Mexican?

The beaches in Brazil are indeed not topless. There are some nude
beaches, but all the famous beaches are not topless.. There are however
so many great beaches there, that if you get just a little bit away from
traditional tourist areas, you can find yourself beaches with few or no
people on it where you can pretty well do what you want. People are not
going to make a big deal out of it if they stumble across you either..

I think the swimsuit guy you are talking about has a line of bikinis
called Blue Boy. His name is not Blue.
