I also noticed when this happened, I was logging the following in the
host PC's event log:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: USER32
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1073
Date: 8/26/2003
Time: 6:18:39 PM
User: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Computer: DELLWINXP
Description:
The attempt to unknown DELLWINXP failed.

Data:

Going to the MS link was, as is usually the case, completely
unhelpful.
The only change I'd made to the PC was installing the latest ATI
drivers for the ATI All-in-wonder 7500 Radeon, driver version:
6.14.10.6368. I used XP's driver "rollback" to go back to version:
6.13.10.6153. After that, logoff worked just like it's supposed to.
I thought I'd post this for anyone else who may be going nuts trying
to figure this out and might have the same configuration.
