What a surprise!!
Why is everybody so surprise by Sen Lott`s remarks. We`ve known for the longest
that he was fishy.. Why complain now? There are just as many Democrats just as
flaky as Sen Lott. Sen Byrd, even Pres Clinton has a racist as a mentor!! And we
black folk are making jokes about Clinton being a black President!! He
apologized, leave it be and move on to something that actually means something..

sen. lott's statement, a non-black rmr participant counteracted with
a "racist" link.
what this implies is that, this participant(who is white) is saying to those
black americans who feel no way, we should read this link and re-think
our position.
i then counteracted that his point is not legitimate as he and others like him
cannot speak from the same view point as the average black american.
1. there is such a thing as the black experience/mal-experience.. AND i doubt
they have enountered that experience.
2. they do not live within the community nor walk amongst citizens of
the community.

made from the poster in question and his cohort jah bill.
i then pointed out that, given their racist comments, their claims of 'one
love', 'black freedom' have been relegated to just another set of terms that

i have not taken a formal poll, but in my community(night spots, barber shop,
gym, food stand) most older and younger people i have talked to
have said the same thing.. 'most of the whites claiming sen lott is a racist
are just as racist.'

they saw it as par for the course.
I find it interesting that a bunch of white people take offence when black
people didn't get their undies in a twist over this issue, and I find it

if so let me weigh in with a serious response: i dont exactly think this guy
is a racist but i do think he has a thin veneer of respectability over his
long-hidden latent racism that probably came from his environment and
upbringing; and that that veneer slipped when he made these remarks. i dont
