People who post shit like this to a NG are looking for flames, and
although I don't normally fall into the trap, I will this time.
You see, to me, being a fan of a band means that when new material
comes out, YOU BUY IT!!! Even if it's not the newest, latest trend
coming down the pike.
The last album was a great rock 'n' roll album. I give the guys a lot
of credit, they didn't come out with a project that sounded like Pearl
Jam, Nirvana or any other of the flanneled masses. What they came out
with was a truly underrated, and totally excellent rock album.
In closing, I'd just like to say that the Crue have been going strong
for 15 years now, regardless of the trend or flavor of the month that
everyone else is buying into. That's because they do what they want,
pleasing themselves first, and in turn pleasing anyone who truly digs
great rock 'n' roll!!
GET BENT ASSHOLE!!!!

Naw, that was Vince's first solo effort. His new one actually isn't
bad. And I know at least 8 people who have the last Crue album :-)

You've got to be kidding, this band always goes the way the wind blows.
When they where doing press for the album they were wearing flannel and
looking like every band from Seattle. Just like when the hair bands were
big they did that. When the satanic thing was big they did that, when the
tattoo thing got big they went out and got sleeved. Come on already this
isn't about fads it's about a band that wasn't very good to begin with,
get a clue.

I wouldn't exactly sat they're going strong at this point.

> You are the one who needs to get a clue. The Crue were one of the
first bands to make the make-up/satanic look popular. Once that became
popular, the Crue decided that they didn't want to be associated with
that look so they changed it for the Theatre of Pain album. There is no
way in the world that you can say the Crue copied anyone with that look
as no one else looked like that before them. Afterwards there were a
lot of bands that got the glam look (Poison comes to mind). Once the
glam look got cluttered, the Crue then changed AGAIN to the leather look
for the Girls album and everyone ONCE AGAIN jumped on their bandwagon to
try and become as popular as they were.
I could go on and on about how the Crue were mostly the originators
and not the copiers but I have a feeling that that would go right
through your head without leaving any imprint at all. Go back to that
"punk-lite" band-of-the-week Green Day, and pretend that what they are
doing is original and cool. I guess you just don't remember that the
Clash did it before them and did it a billion times better than they
ever could. GET A LIFE!!!
If ya don't like the Crue, Get the fuck off of here and let all of us
that do continue to discuss one of the best bands of all time!
Gregg
no doubt man.....I bought the rip-off Pantera album instead...I
fuckin nearly gagged when i heard it.....MINE is now donated
to to the needy....

If you're going to respond to a post, make sure you know what your're
talking about. If memory serves, when the Crue came out with Too Fast
for Love and Shout at the Devil in the early '80's, they were one of
the first bands to use pentagrams and other Alice Cooper like props(
they used to chainsaw the heads off dummies in their club shows).
When they came out with Theater of Pain in 1985, they were one of the
first bands(along with Ratt and Dokken) to do the hair band thing,
dozens of other hair bands soon followed(Warrant, Kik Tracee, Pretty
Boy Floyd, etc.).As for tattoo's, they've been getting those done
since their club days. Check out the earliest photos of the band,
Tommy has Mighty Mouse, Mick has Alistair Fiend) and when Girls,
Girls, Girls came out in '87, they were the first band I remember
seeing to ride Harleys and get "Sleeved" as you call.
I'm pretty sure I'm right about this, check out some old
photos/interviews and you'll see!!

Sorry, they were hardly the only band doing that at the time. It was
quite in vogue at the time.

Number one the "hair band" thing was going before 85. And they were hardly
one of the first. Everybody was doing that at the time.

Yes they had a FEW tatoos as did everybody in the club scene did in those
days. The first band you saw riding Harleys? Do you get all your info from
MTV?

I don't have to look at old photos, I used to see them in the clubs all
the time back then.

This is really pathetic. It doesn't matter what the facts are you want to
believe what you want to believe. As for naming some of the bands how
about Kerry Doll? Get it? When I say everybody, I mean everybody. Where
were you at this time? The club scene at that time was full of this shit.
That's why none of these bands are around now. EVERYBODY GOT A CLUE! These
bands weren't very talented. It made for funny shows, but these bands
weren't made to last.
