Congress' power under the interstate commerce clause ("commerce among the
several states") may be thought to depend upon the amount of commerce "in"
interstate commerce. Does anyone know of any reliable estimates of that
historically? The question might divide into two parts: how much commerce
actually crosses state lines, and second, how directly intrastate commerce
affects interstate commerce. Is this something someone has looked at
before?
