**With all that has been going on on these groups, with discussions with
feminists
**from Canada about legal issues in California, and an overarching discussion of
**non-profit financial disclosure responsibilities, it was with great surprise
**that I received a message indicating that Ilena Rosenthal, Director of the
**Humantics Foundation, had attempted to contact my wife, a military doctor who
**has no involvement, whatsoever, in what goes on on Usenet.

**This is completely and utterly unacceptable. Not only is it
unprofessional, and
**not befitting someone who claims to be "a Woman's Health Advocate for
thousands
**of women harmed by breast implants," but it goes well beyond the bounds
of even
**uncivilized Usenet debate.

**Ms. Rosenthal, whatever the differences you and I have here personally,
online,
**and even whatever differences we might have professionally, this is beyond the
**pale.

**Now, I am uncertain as to what has driven you to take this desperate step -
**perhaps it is because I refuse to back down and cease posting the verifiable
**facts about you and your organization, perhaps it is something else, I
simply do
**not know.

**But what I do know is that you stepped over the line here. This is a line you
**have crossed before, with others. That much has been discussed here and
**elsewhere before. But that does not make it any more serious.

**Do not contact my wife again. Do not contact _ANY_ member of my family again.
**Do not attempt to contact me, or any member of my family, by telephone. If you
**choose to ignore me on this, legal action will be taken against you. It
