I'll try to post what I have on the connections of Christian Mowbray, who, by
her second husband William de Plumpton was the mother of Alice de Plumpton,
wife of Sir John Boteler, of Bewsey (see Weis, 7th ed., p. 148---since her
parentage is not given, the following could be considered an addition).

Christian was first married to Richard de Emildon, mayor of Newcastle. The
Close Rolls on 12 Dec. 1333 show that Cristiane, late the wife of Richard de
Emeldon, tenant-in-chief, put in her place John de Moubray, her brother, and
Henry de Haydok, clerk, to set her dower. The only John de Moubray appearing
in the Close Rolls at that time was John, 3rd Lord Mowbray. Thus she was
daughter of John, 2nd Lord Mowbray, who married in 1298, Aline, daughter and
co-heir of William de Braose (Lord Brewes) (see CP IX 378-380).

By her first husband, she had Maud, who in 1365 was late wife of Alexander de
Hilton, knight, and Jacoba, wife of John de Strivelyn, knight (Inq. p.m.,
Edward III, no. 598). Jacoba was born 23 Mar. 1324/5 in Newcastle upon Tyne
aand baptized at St. Nicholas, one of her sponsors being Joan Moubray (Ibid.,
no. 282). Richard de Emildon had a daughter Agnes by a previous marriage.
