Message from the President
Dear Audio Theatre fan,
LodesTone is reorganizing, but we're still here and still filling your
orders. Here's what's happened:
LodesTone and The Firesign Theatre formed Firesign Theatre Records,
releasing three titles for mass-market sales throughout the country.
Distribution was arranged through Whirlwind Media, a Los Angeles-based
company, and sales were, so far as we can find out, excellent.
Unfortunately, we've never seen a penny of income. Now it develops
that Whirlwind Media has, apparently, defaulted on nearly $50,000 in
sales, and this has dealt our operations a severe blow, financially.
We are still in business, and planning to retrench and resume growing.
However, at present we're facing a number of consequences.
All permanent staff has been laid off, except me. This has made it
very difficult to keep up with orders, and with communications from
customers, on a timely basis, but with some part-time help, we're
doing our best.
We have discontinued the 800-number, because the small number of
orders coming in that way no longer justified the cost.
Some titles have been sold out or withdrawn, and others are
backordered at present. We hope to get the backorders in stock soon.
We are increasing our expected shipping times for the present, but
will try to get things out as quickly as possible. We have had to
increase prices for Rush and Overnight shipping, to cover considerably
increased costs in that area.
We have run out of printed catalogs, and for the present, will be
offering products only on our website. We hope to make the printed
version available on line soon, in the form of PDF files you can
download and print out yourself.
Our website IS secure, and orders come in encrypted, so your personal
information is safe.
Remember, we NEVER charge a credit card, or deposit a check, until the
order is ready to ship. If something in your order is not in stock, we
will ship what is in stock, and send the backordered items when they
come in. You will not pay for shipping & handling more than once.

developing, and LodesTone will always try to bring you the best
available.

time during daylight-savings months, and New York time the rest of the

Please note that we do not answer calls that do not show a valid
caller-ID. This is because we have had problems with "dead-line" calls
(calls which, when answered, do not have a prompt response from the
caller) which only display "OUT OF AREA." We ignore all calls which
show no phone number in the caller-ID, and all calls oringated by
machines.

Well - it seems what goes around, comes around.... Unfortunately, Lodestone
has been in arears in paying producers and artists that have provided
product for their catalog.

My reason for posting this message here was to give it better
exposure. I originally read it on 'The Mindless Fellowship P.' and
figured that not many post or read messages posted there. I can't
really judge Mr. Fish's situation haven't never been in that position.
It's easy to point fingers of blame without ever being involved.
