Yesterday was the Scheme Workshop 2003. The webpage is
http://scheme2003.flux.utah.edu/

I took some notes and I've put them on the web. Hopefully they will be
useful for continuing the conversation on the newsgroup. They are
located at:

http://www.makeoutcity.com/Downloads/2003-SchemeWorkshop.html
http://www.makeoutcity.com/Downloads/2003-SchemeWorkshop.opml

The .opml version is written in OPML, an XML format for outlining.
There are clients and information at http://www.opml.org/

The most interesting part of the day for many people will be the
standardization panel at the end. Some on the key points are that in 2
weeks a committee will be announced to manage the creation of a new
Scheme standard, possibly named R6RS. Look at the notes, find the
people, let them know.

ps. If there are any complaints about the notes (ie attributing
comments to the wrong people or not attributing) please let me know
and I'll post a new version.

Several places in the notes from the standardization panel seem to refer
to a (charter? goals?) document which is not immediately available. Is
there a downloadable version anywhere?

Hyperlinks to papers and/or web-sites would be great. No this is not a
complaint, I appreciate the reporting. Sounds like it was a great
conference.

Has the committee missed its first deadline?

I think so. IMO the charter committee (including me) should
have but did not anticipate that some of the people asked to
serve on the steering or editorial committees would want to
think about it for a week or so, and that these delays could
carry us into Thanksgiving week, when many residents of the
United States are busy with personal matters.
