Hi,

My main complaints about the internet is, porn, spam email, scams, and
false rumors. If we could get rid of these, especially the porn, the
internet could become a decent place for children.

Brad

Tip for your old computer (reduce pollution too):

If you can't sell your old computer, DON'T throw it away. Use it to backup
your software by transferring files from your new computer or laptop to it.

I transferred my Windows folder and other stuff to my old computer using
"PC Link", which I downloaded from www.simtel.net (cool site).

http://www.simtel.net/pub/dl/52792.shtml (info or download)

This program validates every file transferred, which is a good thing because
the first transfer program I tried, changed a couple of the files.

Somewhere in the back of your computer, there is a wire that
disappears into the wall. Disconnect that, and all the porn,
spam, and rumors will cease.

When Gutenberg invented movable type, the first thing he printed
was a Bible. The next guy probably dashed off a few copies of
_Hot Horny High School!_ and sold them down at the sleazy stall
next to the oil seller, across the alley from the baker.

Most people would use a crossover cable.

Turned pictures of your sister into porn?

Let's face it. If you disconnect from the Internet to avoid obscene material,
you not only miss the good stuff, but you forgo the means to evangelise
cheaply.

And if I ever get ahold of a time machine, I'll be sure to shoot Gutenberg
before he prints his first bible. Then, I'll install Ted Nelson's clone in
place of the murdered Gutenberg, just to see what happens (other than an
interminable delay).

Steve

Oh, Jaysus. Get Net Nanny or something if you must preserve the tinies
from having their delicate innocence brutally ruptured by whatever
you're worried about. I'm more worried about making the internet a
decent place for adults, among whom I have doubts about whether to
number you.

Peeve: people who think the main purpose of the Internet is to enable
little Jasper to research his school project on rainfall without being
distracted by images of donkey sex.

Without porn, the internet wouldn't be a decent place for adults.
It's not an amusement park for rugrats.

Fuck off.

Not to defend porn, but I'm getting damned tired of hearing how the
internet
needs to be a "place for chlldren". Children had absolutely nothing to
do with
its creation or purpose.

Let's have parents control their kiddies, screw making the internet a
kiddie
media.

Whenever I am researching donkey sex, Brittany Spear's
labia or other important things, I keep getting all this school
kid stuff show up.

If you do a search or go to a computer store you should be able to find
programs to block those things. Either for free, or at a very low cost.

Burn it.

Shitty, Errors on page.

Even worse.

Store on another computer? How about store on a damn CD rom!? Or a ZIP
drive... Geesh. Use an internet POS old computer taking up that much
needed space just for some files to be saved?
