You need to tell "Lionsgate Films" to a bit more specific with their
press releases. I've recently seen several websites describe the show as
"set in the near future when a society of children attempts to rebuild
the world after a catastrophic virus annihilates everyone over the age
of 12".

I've seen the press release, and it's accurate; the misstatement you quote
above is more the result of misquoting and getting it wrong than the release
itself.
