Sorry. I'm not trying to create heart attacks. :)

Makes perfect sense. Clear as crystal.

So... I have an idea for a story to turn into a "novel for television" or
perhaps a movie serial like Star Wars. How would I go about doing that?
Hand it over to you? Start small and work my way up to a position of power?

And... I notice that you squeeze a LOT of work in to your day. How??? Me,
I have a hard enough time driving to work, working, finding time to vote,
and getting back in time for bed. How do you do so much with so little?
What is your typical daily schedule?

Start by selling scripts (assuming you haven't already). Now, sell
more scripts. Many more over many years. Work your fingers to the
bone while building a reputation as someone reliable, who finishes what
they start. That might get you some story editing jobs someday,
followed by producing if you do that well. Eventually, you might work
your way up to executive producing. After several years and many gray
hairs (assuming you still have hairs to turn gray) you may have the
clout to pitch a series idea to the studios. And that's when the REAL
work begins.

Every writer, at various points, has someone come up to him and say, "Listen, I
have this great idea, how about I turn it over to you, you write it up, and
we'll split the profits 50/50."

Doesn't work that way. You have to get in, do the work, earn your chops, and
then sell a series (if you can).

I get up. I write. I break for a quick lunch. I write. I grab a quick bite
for dinner. I write. That's my schedule, every day, day in, day out, minus
occasional interruptions for meetings. You just do it.

Take in a deep breath. Exhale. Hug someone you love.
Go watch a sunset. Eat slow. Take regular breaks. Dream
with your eyes shut. Take a nap. Write. Eat healthy. Go
for a short brisk walk. Answer some fan messages. Hug
someone you love. Write. Meet with some friends. Get
a good night's sleep. Take your vitamins.

We want you around for a long, long time...... so be good
to yourself.

Not that I'm trying to tell you how to live or anything.

Yes, and a few hours into that schedule he'll grow big and green and
growl "Joe write!" until someone gives him a pen and a piece of paper.
