JMS,

I know you've been really busy. Congratulations on all of your new projects!
I'm looking forward to them, especially the new Showtime series.

Has everything going on kept you from releasing a script (or two) for the Fan
club this month? I don't think I've seen it go this late before without the
site changing.

Thanks,

Jan

The fan club site has gotten caught up in the bankruptcy of Netter Digital,
which ran the operation. It's not doing anything right now.

Did Netter Digital replace Rattlesnake Productions as co-owner of
Babylonian Productions? If so, what is the state of Babylonian?

As a Christian, I wish to register both my disgust at George W. Bush's
attempt to exploit the name of my Lord and my God for its brand value,
and my horror at the fact that a major candidate should be so deeply
illiterate as to call Him a "political philosopher" in the first place.

I don't know the legalities of their situation in any detail; but certainly my
half is unaffected, and it does not have any effect on B5 itself since that's
owned by WB, Babylonian Prods. was the company that made the show, not owned
the show.

Does this mean I'm not going to get the $100 worth of stuff I ordered on Sept.
8th for my birthday?! God I hope they didn't charge my card ( I have to get the
new statement) and won't send the stuff.

Since as far as I know the orders had to be processed by hand, I don't believe
anyone's cards are being charged. I've asked several times for them to take
the site offline until this is straightened out. It should be attended to
soon.

FWIW I ordered EP-15, "Z'Ha'Dum" on Sept. 12 and, although I did
receive the email order confirmation, there was no charge on my Sept.
statement.

P.S. JMS, if you're reading this, I'm assuming that getting the
fanclub back up and running is on the wish list, right? Thanks.

Whew. For once my semi-obsession with getting the scripts may have paid off.
I ordered mine as soon as it showed up on the website and got it only a few
days later.

I know it's on *my* wish list but unfortunately I doubt if it's on JMS' since
he's expressed his fondness for B5 but is awfully busy with other things. It
wasn't as much a fan club anymore as a B5 store anymore anyway.

Somehow I was sort of hoping that he (or someone close to the show) might buy
any existing inventory for the sake of making it available at conventions?
There's still some stuff I really want to get....drat.

This could be a repost, since I think I may have posted this to the wrong
forum, but if I did, and thus this isn't (are you with me so far?) I just
wanted to let folks know that Midnight Nation 2 came out this week.

Good stuff! You're adapting to writing for the comic form quite well
with MN, with an excellent visual storyteller like Gary Frank just
making everything come across with crystal clarity and expressive moods.

The 8 pages of pencils for #3 in the back (TC reaaly is impressed with
Gary's punctuallity, aren't they?) have me thinking I know who "Laz"
is. He's been looking for a looong time. :)

Whatever quibbles some have about conceptual similarities with Neil
Gaiman's NEVERWHERE, that should become moot with #3, I think. Nary a
giant wild spirit boar, a search for a stolen soul instead of merely
discovering a more adventurous less routine life, and a distinctly
more... theological angle to things.

BTW, there seems some confussion on the TC boards. Is the new RISING
STARS colorist Dan Kemp (MN #1) or Dave Kemp (Marvel Knights' INHUMANS)?

Good luck with the new RS inker search. I have my fingers crossed for
a well established *embellisher* from outside the TC pool of artists
(Jerry Ordway, Kevin Nowlan, Bob McLeod, ...).

Great stuff, JMS! With this issue, you seem to have really struck a fine
balance between the text and the visuals, with neither getting in the way of
the other. (Gary Frank's excellent art doesn't hurt, either.) I'm looking
forward to seeing where you go with this story.
