I realise this issue has probably been beaten to death,
defiled, whipped, and stomped upon ad nauseam, but... I
haven't seen or read much detail on this in quite a while so
I figured I might venture to ask a couple of questions about
Crusade-
<ducks from flying debris>
1. There was a rumour some time back that, providing all
went well with the daily showings of Babylon 5, SciFi
Channel were considering picking up and/or reviving Crusade.
I noticed on their web site - again, some time ago - that
they were asking for votes on the subject: pick up Crusade
or remake Battlestar Galactica. I shudder at the thought of
the latter, personally, and think it a waste of money and
effort, but that's my opinion.
Has anything of this gone beyond the realm of mere rumour or
is it not even an option any longer even if it were started
afresh?
2. Given the fact that the B5 video tape release in the US
has apparently come to a grinding halt (a source of great
irritation unless there is *finally* some real hope for a
DVD release, as well there should be) does the possibility
of ever seeing Crusade or A Call to Arms on video (in the
US) seem more and more unlikely?

Thanks for your time.

It is what it's always been - A possibility. Nothing more or nothing
less... until the B5 ratings come in.

I doubt jms knows any more than we do, and if he did he'd either have
told us already, or can't say anything about it yet.

I doubt he's heard anything, since the Sci-Fi channel's official
position on it is "We'll decide that after we see the ratings". Ergo,
I sincerely doubt that they'd be setting something up, since they're
obviously a divided camp on the issue, and the others would have to be
convinced by the ratings.
Of course, this DOES mean that there's a very real possibility that
the series WILL be continued. However, if this doesn't pan out, then I
think we can truly call Crusade dead.

That reply was to the question about US Crusade video tapes, not if it
would get picked up by Sci-Fi.

I have no clear idea re: either notion. You'll probably find out before I do,
'cause that's what this business is like.

I remember a few months ago, I got a magazine, and inside it had advertisements
for videotapes of Crusade that were to be on sale soon. I have yet to actually
see the videotapes in stores though.

They've just been released in the UK. The final tape came out this month.

Yea, go on, rub it in... :)
Obviously Warner Bros believe that only people in the UK and Australia want to
own videos of B5, the TNT films, and Crusade. We Americans aren't good enough
to warrant the availability of the full run. Rather, they think we prefer
Seasons 1 and 5 with a few other episodes sprinkled in between. Great business
sense...

Well, we do need something to cheer us up! After trailing behind in viewing
the original shows, in addition to them (and the films) being broadcast at
strange hours and with virtually no promotion or information regarding them
in regular TV listings guides, as well as being shifted around on
terrestrial tv to make way for just about anything else! The only way to
keep up is through the videos.

Feel better now I've gotten that particular gripe out of my systrem :-)
