All right. Is it true the B5 issue of this is finally out? If so, any
clue if I can get it from an online merchant?

Thanks to all!

Yes it's out, and no clue, sorry. I got mine from a comics shop.

It is out. I bought one at the local Barnes & Noble, so maybe the
on-line store has it also.

The magazine is well worth it. The Babylon 5 section is 86 pages with
no ads.

You thought so, eh? Speaking as someone with a HUGE collection of magazines
with B5 related articles, including the original Cinefantastique issue from
'93 or was it '94 (?) that contained the all-time best article on the
subject, I checked the new issue out in the bookstore the other day and was
sorely disappointed. Most of the information in it was so out-of-date and
inaccurate that I could only conclude it was written three years ago and
printed verbatum today. Repeated all sorts of old since-disabused stories
about what went on behind the scenes, didn't really delve with any depth
into the themes or significance of the show, etc, etc. Indeed, there wasn't
anything in the whole magazine that I didn't hear on line at least two years
ago. What I thought was most amusing was that I clearly wasn't the only
person who read thru the thing quickly in the store and then put it back on
the shelf, as the cover was already falling off the copy at the front of the
stack. I'd say, if you're here, don't bother to spend the money, there's
nothing new in it for you. Maybe to those who aren't net connected ... no,
I take that back; any magazine that can't even bother to fact-check
something as simple and incontrovertible as to whether nor not Andrea
Thompson and Jerry Doyle had a child together during their brief and
according to her, horribly mistaken marriage, isn't worth attention.

Wait a minute. Your opinion of the special issue aside--I disagree, but that
doesn't matter--what are you talking about? The only mention I remember of
Thompson and Doyle's marriage is in the one-page profile of her, it says
something like "the two later divorced, they have one son." I checked an
interview with Doyle in another magazine, and yes, this is correct.

well i thought it was a good issue. the no-ads bit probably contributes
to the huge price of the mag. 18.99 canadian. the behind the scenes
stuff is cool, especially the sketches etc.

another topic: anyone have anything to say about the official babylon 5
magazine? i've leafed thru a few issues but nothing has really stood
out yet.

one more question re: the series treatment. the reviews at About say
that the season 1 guide has 7 pictures or something like that. the
season 1 guide also has lots of pages. well, re: the series treatment.
the review says it's only 22 pages but that doesn't include pictures.
how many pages of pictures are there?

and: if i only bought one, the series treatment or the season 1 guide,
which should i buy?

brandon.

and after this there's just the circus

Probably the B5 season 1 bible; it's the better buy for the money, given the
sheer size of the thing.
