Belonging to the majority of people who don't live in the USA, I was
rather disgruntled to see that Fiona Avery's Bester script would *only*
be available to US residents. Now, if it were only a matter of money, it
could be understandable: there should be a way for Fiona to get the
payments without having to go thru the hassle of changing foreign money,
or reliquishing a huge part of the sum in bank charges. Still, there are
easy ways of sending US money from foreign countries. But the site just
says these scripts are only available to US residents.
So, what's wrong with the rest of us getting our grubby little paws on
the script? Do we have bad breath or does the dialogue touch on a couple
of important US state secrets?

billion years, we foolish molecules forget who we are, and where we came

on maps, and pretend our light is better than everyone else's. The flame
reminds us of the piece of those stars that lives on inside us, the
spark that tells us, 'you know better'." JMS

He must have missed this part of the site which said:

without paying an arm and a leg for shipping and handling (both for you and for
us) but right now it's not a feasible option.>>

In other words, it IS just a matter of money, but they're on the lookout for
other options.

Fair enough: he did. :-))
I went straight to the Fiona page, and saw no mention of that sentence.
Maybe they could ask thestation.com how they do it? I've ordered scripts
from them before, at reasonable prices, and got them fast and safe.
I do hope they get their act together before the print run of that
particular episod is gone. :-((

You mean the information for the scripts? Sorry, I posted it the other day but

At the bottom of this page are links for scripts for sale by JMS (via the Fan
Club site) Fiona Avery (via mail) and Neil Gaimon (via Comic Defense). They
hope to get others including David Gerrold and Harlan Ellison among others
shortly.
Hope this helps.

The newsgroup messages are referring to the Internet site "Scripts from the
Lot" at http://www.sff.net/people/chris-tsirbas/sftl.html
This is a web site that has been set up for a variety of writers to sell
their scripts, including Fiona Avery (who wrote the Crusade scripts "The
Well of Forever", "Patterns of the Soul", and the unproduced script "Value
Judgements", which has Bester in it).
An overseas newsgroup reader lamented that the scripts are only available
for now for residents of the USA, due to concerns with shipping costs.
This is explained at
http://www.sff.net/people/chris-tsirbas/sftl_fiona_avery_sales.html
"Sales are limited to U.S. Customers only. Scripts are sent through the US
postal service. In the future, we may figure out how to ship scripts to
other countries without paying an arm and a leg for shipping and handling
(both for you and for us) but right now it's not a feasible option"
I also hope that they figure out how to "ship scripts to other countries
without paying an arm and a leg for shipping and handling". As an "overseas"
fan, I am resigned (though unhappy) to pay up to 50% for the cost of
collectibles as shipping charges (The best so far is a recent enquiry on the
cardboard cut-out figures - US$20 for a figure, US$132 for shipping. I said
no :-) )
