Hi.

Since Rising Stars is a maxi-series and not ongoing, will it be
collected in trade paperback/s in the future? Here in Australia comic
shops are few and far between, and trades may be the only way for many
comic readers here to get hold of Rising Stars.

Thanks.

Jack

RS has been such a good seller, that'll I'll be surprised if the first
trade isn't solicited shortly after #6.

But reason RS went to Top Cow is the control they offered. Joe, what's
the plan? An RS trade would make a great gift next Christmas for the
B5/SF/superhero fan who doesn't generally buy comics themselves.

Dunno...I've heard rumblings about a graphic novel or suchlike, but haven't had
time to pursue the conversation.

BTW, Issue 4 hits newsstands THIS WEEK.

Looking forward to picking it up Friday.

Uhm, on a possibly down note, how fast an artist is Chris Zanier? He
still seems to sometimes be doing the ANGEL tie-in, and now this news
was on mania.com:
---------------------
Purgatori/Vampirella Art Change
Matt Brady, Contributing Editor

Brian Pulido confirmed that Luke Ross, the previously announced artist
of March's Purgatori/Vampirella crossover has been changed. The new
artists on the project will be Rising Stars' Ken Lashley on layouts and
Christian Zanier on pencils.

"It was a great coup for us to land both Ken and Christian," Pulido
said. "Together, these guys have been turning heads with their teaser
work on Rising Stars, and now, fans will really get a chance to see
them cut loose with a healthy dose of gorgeous women, blasphemy and a
healthy dose of vampiric violence. It's gonna be a real treat for Vampi
fans, Purgatori fans and fans of Ken and Christian's work."
-----------------------------

Will Chris still be able to do RS?

Yeah, pull the other leg. This series would probably be finished sooner if
it were on TV, rather than at Top Cow.

Anyway, I must say that Ravenshadow is much more interesting than
what's-his-name, the main character/investigator. I know that if I had
super-powers, I'd get myself a secret hideout, just so I could be cool. We
all know Ravenshadow has a fan-club in the Rising Stars world, but I bet no
one's got Poet trading cards.

Kudos to the cool costume design for Ravenshadow, even if he did make it
himself.

I personally believe Draal will appear in the next issue with his green
penguins to kill Mordred, who's behind all of this. Ooh, drat, did I just
violate the terms of service here?

Actually, it IS out this week, and the rest of the schedule is falling into
place as well. Christian is massively catching up on the scripts in hand.

Yep. Got mine earlier this week. I especially liked the kitty. It bears
a striking resemblance to my own, black and scrawny. In fact one of my
friends once described her as "the lanky cartoon-cat".

Can't wait for the next issue.

JMS was right--I just got issue #4!

And I thought I would have to wait another week or two like last time...

Well, I just bought my copy yesterday (Friday 7 January 2000) in Australia.

Great read by the way

I stand corrected. I'd love to be able to inflate and bounce around!
