The problem is that TNT holds an option to do a second season of
Crusade. TNT has NOT decided one way or another whether or not to exercise
this option-- and there are apparently people in the organization who WANT to
continue Crusade.
Crusade is doing very well and this is a real possibility.
This is holding up anything else.
Sci-Fi would love to have Crusade, but Sci-Fi wants to OWN Crusade
which aint gonna happen and is apparently a tough negotiating point.
If TNT decides to continue at the end of the 13 episodes, then it will
renew. If TNT decides against, then great scrambling to try to put together
another deal with somebody else ensues. (I gather there has been
at-least unofficial discussions going on)
There was also a mention of TNT having some kind of "option"
arrangement with the actors?????
I would wonder if there is consideration of continuing WITHOUT
JMS !?!?!?!? (totally personal speculation without any form of source and I
would sincerely hope that it is not legally possible-- talk about your
nightmares)
I would be happy to hear denials or confirmation -- most importantly, I would
love to hear that its not all over.

The standard deal with the actors is they are signed to a contract where
the folks doing the show (WB domestic TV, in this case) have to renew
each year. It's pretty much a one-year contract with four additional
one-year options. The drop-dead date here has already passed according
to the information we have received here on the group, so none of the
cast is under contract with WB. Therefore, new contracts would have to
be negotiated at this point.
Note that in the case of B5 Season 5, they went past the drop-dead date,
but were able to get an agreement from everyone in the cast except CC to
extend that date. CC was not in S5 because negotiations for a new
one-year contract broke down (w/o getting into any discussion as to
whose fault any of that was, because we've spent way too much time on it
already).

Any further confirmation/denial/information would be greatly appreciated but I
assume there is good reason that none is forthcomming at this time.
Best of luck, I am thoroughly enjoying your story and will be very
disappointed if it is not continued.
