wow.

i'm not going to post any spoilers here except to say that the beginning
of this episode is pretty strong stuff. i've followed cameras into many
alien vessels but this time it really FELT alien. done differently, this
could have been a really predictable story with all kinds of cliches
but this really held my attention and the resolution hit like a blow to
the back of the head. and i see now there are some real gems in the cast -
i've really come to like max alot, i'm missing galen, and gideon is the most
expressive and likable captain i've seen in many a show.

i was trying to explain the whole uniform mess to the people assembled
to watch this episode but i wound up confusing myself. does anyone have
the whole story?

i'll be calling scifi today - if nothing else just to get them to watch
this episode.

The new uniforms are actually the old uniforms, made to look like new uniforms
in story so that we could later go back to the old uniforms (really the new
uniforms) and stay in those for the rest of the season.

If you can parse that sentence, you're a better grammarian than I am.

I'd like to add my "thumbs up" to the production of this episode. It was
wonderful seeing John Vickery again. He was every bit as good with this
character as he was in B5 with Neroon. Stephen Furst did a marvelous job
as director. The scenes with the hand-held brought the audience right into
the Excalibur, made us part of the action. Great touch. Did he take a page
from Goran Gajic, or did he always know that?

The story had me wondering about how it was going to end, right up to the
end of the last act. Exciting, emotional and poignant, lots of hidden
messages that will make me want to watch this ep. at least one more time
(already saw it twice in one night).

Great work all around.

That explains the rank pins being the Babylon style and the black
uniforms having the odd rank markings. I still like the black uniforms
better even if it was at TNT request... (shrug)

The basic sentence is "Uniforms are uniforms." Under the first word
append 'the'. Under 'are' append 'actually' . Under second 'uniforms;'
append 'the old' 'made to look like new uniforms' and the subclause 'so
that we could ... et cetera'

Now if you want the WHOLE thing parsed...

forget it.:)

Not even TNT can be wrong ALL the time. They do seem to try pretty hard
though.
