Did you have any problems with TNT concerning Appearances & Other
Deceits? It certainly seemed to have enough action for them--I was
glued to my seat the whole time! It was a good episode!

Good to see John Vickery again. He was great!

It was one in which basically I said "screw it" and after having given a bit
here and there on other episodes, just to try and keep peace (not terribly
important stuff, really), stopped listening to them entirely and wrote in a
manner consistent with the first five.

And that, for viewers, will be the most interesting part from my side of
things. The next 5 to be shown were the first five shot...and as you hit the
end of those five, ask one question: given what's in those five episodes, aside
from the uniforms (which would've been changed anyway) was this a show that
deserved to be shut down, messed with, and otherwise turned upside down?

I already have posted sometime ago that sentiment.

Well that's self serving. Since there is a lot more to production then
just the finish product. Your just ticked off because they mess with
your baby, even though they were paying child support and had a fair
say in the matter. While you whip most fans of the Babylon 5 into a
froth over TNT meddling (warranted or not), you fail to mention that
they are buying a show from you. It is their right to tell you want
they want, not what you want to give them. You should be thankful that
you had the oppertunity to run Babylon 5 the way you wanted it, but
you know damn well your control over the making of Babylon 5 was an
exception to the rule. What TNT did is what they believed was right
(which is all the justification they need), you just threw a
hissy-fit. Is it right that a bunch of executives conserned with the
bottom line can push through any flotsom that is passed from their
brain? Maybe not, but what makes you better then all the other
producers who work hard and have to tolerate the meddling of
executives on a daily basis?

JMS, you once had a Sinclair say never hand a gun to someone unless
you know which way they're going to shoot it. Now you just asked over
a thousand people their opinion? There is always things in a series
people will dislike or want changed, I mean people have opinions. I
have to agree with the Uniforms, the black ones are way nicer then
then the colorful ones (except for the rank pins). Generally speaking
the episodes this far have been great overall.

I think the point he's trying to make is that the first five filmed
are better than the rest, and that it was stupid for TNT to mess with
something in a way that degraded the quality, not that they didn't
have a right to. I haven't seen all of the first five, just the first;
but so far, things look real good. "Racing the Night" might be the
best episode so far.
