I live in the L.A. area and am looking for the new issue of Amazing Stories,
featuring the new B5 short story. So far I have been unable to track down a
copy of the magazine. The comic shop where I pre-ordered the issue, after
assuring me that they would be able to get it, now claims they can't get the
magazine at all. I've checked Borders, Barnes & Noble and Bookstar, and no one
has it. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

It's only starting to hit newsstands; it should be out in LA this coming week.

Really? I got mine last weekend - do you mean to tell me that the East Coast
actually got something *before* the West Coast? Wow! <G>

BTW, I really enjoyed the story, Joe. I could hear Londo's voice in my head as
I read it.

I just found it at the borders in glendale (on south brand street, across from
the glendale galleria) hope that helps!

I loved it too!! Just finished reading it. Londo stories never seem to fail
to move me.. One way or another.

"Of course, Excellency. Is it important?" And the reply had my laughing out
loud.

Have I missed any other short stories? Is there a good list of all B5
reading material somewhere? Thank god the picture of Londo was on the
cover... Took me by surprise.

Then I come on here to comment on how good it was and here is a thread!

That's the first B5 story I've done for Amazing; there are two more yet to
come. The next one up is a G'Kar/Lyta story set after their joint departure
from B5. (I'm basically taking snapshots of where some of the characters are
in the months or weeks after the end of season 5.)

I'm very pleased with the story.

I enjoyed "Shadow of His Thoughts" very much. In fact, while that
Amazing Stories issue had a Orson Scott Card written story and a new
tale of Herbert's world Dune, it was that B5 one that made me part with
the cash. B5's last couple season were such big event stories, that
this was a nice change of pace, being such a personal spotlight on
Londo's life during his early emporership.

I remember you said awhile all you said about the 3rd story was that it
was set on B5. Will we get to see some of that new crew from the end
of season 5 in action?

And any chance you'll find time to do some new non-B5/Crusade science
fiction prose?

Does anyone know if Joe's stories will be in the next 2 consecutive issues
of Amazing Stories? If so, I was considering buying a subscription.

The "next issue" blurb in the current issue *doesn't* mention any B5
content in the next. Keep an eye on their website
(http://www.wizards.com/Amazing/), and I suspect JMS just might let us
know what issue his work'll be in next when he knows. :)

You know, I was expecting a very depressing story... Londo's life as
Emperor could hardly be described as idyllic, after all. However I
found it surprisingly upbeat little tale, and very in character for
Londo. A wonderful story, worth every cent I shelled out for the
magazine (and in Australian dollars, that's quite a bit of money!)

I felt the same way--I wondered if Londo would be as interesting with
the Keeper. Obviously, he is. I loved the story!

Oh, I'm so glad to hear that. Now I will go out & buy it. I too was afraid
of a depressing story. Londo's life being so tragic, you know. Thanks for
the word.
