I love Babylon 5 and I think it is a FANTASTIC series...but I think you
should leave Crusade behind (I know its canned now...but you've said it
may come back).

Why? Because it's part of the B5 universe. A rich and full universe. I
think it would be fantastic if you started something completely new,
away from B5...and capture all of our hearts with something breathtaking
and new all over again.

I wasn't a B5 fan In the Beginning (err..no pun intended), I was one of
those fools who dismissed it as a ST-ripoff. When I finally saw it I was
hooked. I would have loved to be there from the beginning...waiting for
the next week with anticipation...being caught up in something
wonderous..something so different and original.

Crusade is different no doubt...but it's still Babylon 5's universe. I
really hope you get (if you haven't already gotten) a network TV series
offer...it would be great to see something of yours on one of the
networks that snubbed you back years ago.

And I hope that one day... I'll be breathless with wonder at something
new...and original...as B5 was when I first saw it...and hopefully,
it'll be a J. Michael Straczynski production...Thanx for listening.

Isn't it a little rash to judge a show before you've seen it?

That's like saying NYPD blue or ER is not refreshing cause it doesn't take
place in a new universe only our own and copies the grim realities of it. The
universe that was set up was vast but merely referred to. Even after Crusade
there will be much to write about by jms and other authors. As long as the
concept only main characters in the TV show make juicy stories (star trek
novels come to mind as only one of those novels dared not to us any reference
to TV character, merely used the universe created by them.) another example
would be in the RPG world. Chaosium's Glorantha and TSR's Forgotten Realms has
virtual libraries written on their fantasy worlds and they still have much
entertainment left.

There is still much left in the 2260's to see. Here's hoping we can.

Very funny Scotty, now beam down my clothes.

I'm not judging the series. I think it will/would have been a great
series. If you bothered to read the rest of my post you'd realize that
quality had nothing to do with what I said.
I was just saying it would be nice to see JMS build something
else..something new, capture our hearts all over again with somethingw
e've never seen before.

Think before you post

I replied only to what your post implied, which was B5's universe had nothing
fresh for jms to offer. Now if you meant jms should create other universes
while other writers expand his current one in B5 then I apologize. I merely
say there is much left and many threads yet to be woven.

I did, did you?

If at first you succeed, try not to look surprised- garibabldi
