Sigh.,..that's right, make some bucks out of the
intellectual theft of someone's work while you can.

I've communicated with Mr. Schuster, and he has agreed to remove from future
copies of the book all of the material taken from my internet postings.

That doesn't affect the copies already on stands, but all copies produced
henceforth (it's a self published operation, with limited numbers made at any
time) will be done without that copyrighted material.

I have a copy of the book, & I wasn't all that impressed with it--it has
a lot of typos, for one thing (misspelled words).

Why not? The damage (such as it is) has been done.

The point is that my opinion, of "collectables" is pretty
low and to see people apparently rushing to collect
something which has basically stolen someone's work and hard
efforts is squalid. Let them do some hard work if they want
to create a B5 book and not just cut and paste Joe's

do it, you could do it, a half brain dead moron slobbering
from the corner of one mouth could do it, doesn't make it
right though.

Well, duh. 'Twas pulled of the internet. Probably no good grammar either.

If I've already been robbed it's too late.

I *know* someone is making money off of it - unless they have all the same
hobbies as I do and decided to just keep my stuff.

Your point? Feel free to go back through my posts and find the place where
I said it was "right".

Touche. :o)

Where did I necessarily say you said it was right?

All I have said, in the context of this thread, is that my
opinion of such things is low and I do not understand those
people who flock to catch them before they are rightly
stopped.

As for the grammar, the "right"ness was in respect of
whether or not it was right to cut'n'paste joe's online
words into a book. You may wish to reconsider that.

Joe,

I've wanted to ask this for some time: How would brief quotes from dialogue be
looked upon by the lawyers. I'm piecing together an unauthorized book of my own
and while I don't include any of your net stuff, I have thrown in one or two
lines of dialogue from each episode.

How do you think the lawyers would look upon that? It's hardly critical but it
adds a nice touch. If it was a problem, however, it would of course come right
out.
