Pay attention class! Read the following extracts then answer the questions
which follow. Your score will count towards your prostate's health. Pupils
'Jim' and 'W. Steven Spear', who are a little slow, will be given extra
time to answer. Ready? Begin!

The following extracts are from postings sent to our newsgroup by Antonio
Novak Feliciano, M.D:

I am not a urologist. I am a surgeon....

I was under the impression that Ken Smith has verified the fact that (my
son, Dr AE Feliciano) could not have done research on prostatitis
beginning 1981, which this doctor claimed during his speech to the PF in
1995, in Chicago for the simple reason that he did not pass the
Philippine Board Exam. until 1991.

I was also under the impression that the method of transporting culture
specimens by mail to be faulty or incomplete, has been verified by your
own doctors for you to "retire" this page. How many patients have send
their specimen to this laboratory believing it to be sufficient?

All of a sudden these "retired pages" were restored to another site with a
note:

<PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THE INFORMATION AT THE NEW
SITE IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PROSTATITIS FOUNDATION >

Whose responsibility is it then? Why did the patients travel half way
around the world under the impression that they would be cured in 16 days.
Is it because they read this information in the PF web page? In any
society or culture, a liar would never be trusted or taken seriously.

There is also a page linked to the PF of another doctor advertising the
"Non surgical treatment of Prostatitis". This is misleading because
prostatitis is never treated surgically unless it becomes complicated with
a constricting BPH.

What's up Ken? Why don't you or the PF take a stand on which information
you publish in your site!

Certainly any adverse effect due to an advertisement in your web site
should be your responsibility, and if found misleading or untrue, should
not be published.

You, Ken Smith responded by saying that you do not know the truth. Then
why don't you find out and simply write to the Professional Regulation
Commission, Manila, Philippines and ask the year AEF passed the board
exam? Is this a personal feud? or a "moral obligation" which you do not
seem to want to verify.

Are you going to hide behind your definition of "credo", ignoring the
above facts. by calling a "personal feud"? What is your definition of a
"moral responsibility"?

Will you be responsible for any body believing that by traveling to
Manila, he will be 100% cured in 16 days? Did you not E mail me to show
you this page and you will remove it?

Can a new patient really make a right decision when your web site is full
of this misinformation and controversies disclaiming "responsibility".
Remember most of the patients are confused and will cling to any straw!

NOTE:
My web site is intended to clarify a confused situation by quoting other
doctors view, contradictory to each other resulting in confusion, and my
suggested diagnosis and treatment based on accepted medical principle and
logic, to encourage other doctors to do their own research based on this
simple logical suggestion. I have done this consistently for one year and
I don't have to tell you the results.

Questions:

1) Is Dr Feliciano a urologist? If not, explain if and why you would trust
a man with no specialised knowledge of the genito-urinary tract, and the
many complicating factors which can affect it, to treat you. In your
answer, make sure to mention how you are 'certain' your prostatitis is not
something else: uric acid-related, candida toxin-related, invasive bladder
cancer, prostate cancer (with a normal PSA), varicocele, congenital
seminal vesicle obstruction, entrapped nerve pain after inguinal hernia
repair or primary bladder dysfunction (to name but a few).

2) Dr Feliciano calls his son a liar, cheat and thief. True or false?

3) Would you travel to Tucson for treatment after reading Dr Feliciano's
description of his son?

4) Do you believe in the 'chip off the old block' theory? Do you believe
the ancient maxim 'like father, like son'? Have your children learned
their moral values from you? If you answer 'yes' to any of these
questions, explain why you ever read anything Dr A. N. Feliciano posts to
this newsgroup.

5) How many people do you know (or know of) who have been cured by Dr A.
N. Feliciano? (You may use the fingers of your left hand to count, if
necessary).

6) What do you feel about someone who so publicly and bitterly attacks his
own son? Do you consider such behaviour appropriate for a medical Doctor?

7) Don't you feel just a bit sorry for old Ken Smith? If yes, have you
thought of writing him a letter of support?
