Ok, I have been away for a couple of months or so and thought it time to
catch up, so without trawling through Google what have I missed folks?

I would like to add:

Wlecome back - if you'd been a little earlier you could perhaps have
raked up some enthusiasm for a meet at the Brick Lane Curry Festival
(but not even that would tempt me, or Dave Fawthrop, to London!!)

Well some people popped in with some recipes - and popped out again.

tc posted a Rogan Josh recipe - with rattan jog (but I don't think it was
the same as the one you posted, I'm sure I've kept all of those, and it
had salt petre in (I have some salt petre, and rattan jog, but I haven't
tried the recipe.

You've spotted one or two of the other threads, otherwise it's been fairly
quiet.

I has lunch at Sweet and Spicy with a couple of colleagues on Thursday and
was a little disappointed with the two week Curry Festival. Apart from a
banner spanning the road their was very little else to indicate that there
was a festival on. One restaurant had an advertisement in the window
offering a free Cobra beer with each meal, but I had anticipated some stalls
and such stuff.

Incidentally the food at Sweet and Spicy was up to its usual good standard
but as I have become a regular patron I have noticed that the curries seem
to differ from week to week. I usually opt for a karai gosht which usually
has lots of fresh green chillies and some little dumpling type things, this
week there was no chillies or dumplings yet the karai chicken which my
friend unleashed upon himself was crammed with chilli. A bit unfortunate as
he is not a chilli-head and the heat of the spicing detracted from his
enjoyment after I had assured him that the chicken had been mild when I
tried it.

There you go, nothing like keeping the punters on their toes.

Steve
