Fuck Team USA. *If* Yzerman can be the hero, and possibly win *some*
sort of special award -- for ~once~ in his heroic, perfect, absolutely
*brilliant* mega-star career -- I'm for Canada all the way.

If Yzerman is a non-entity in the game, of course I meant to say,
"Fuck Team Canada".

I've told you before, Fatso Fan Boi, waste however much time you like

creatively) before. I'd stick to writing, if I were you.

You're an *old* fart aren't you? Talk Gordie Howe and I ~might~
listen. I doubt it, but you never know.

A friend just sent me an Yzerman card with a piece of his jersey ~in~
the card. Same guy sent me one with a piece of the boards from Joe
Louis Arena in the card. He gets this stuff on Ebay. I've never seen
cards like that before. Evidently they are "inserts". I'm afraid to go
to Ebay and look. I'd max my credit cards out in seconds flat.

I did just buy a whoooole bunch of stuff from the NHL catalog tho.
Practice jersey, a nice long sleeved tshirt with the old Red Wings
Original Six design on it. I can't believe how much the personalized
authentic jerseys go for.

Hannigan likes hockey? I always thought Marty doesn't appreciate
anything but Hostess Ding Dongs and Kentucky Fried Chicken. Maybe he
still has two or three functioning braincells left???

I never understood how Americans fail to realize that NHL is the
greatest and most international professional sports league in the
world. Nobody outside of U.S borders don't give a flying fuck about
baseball or American football. Still these sports are much more
popular in the States.

I don't think many Europeans have never even HEARD about any baseball
player, and yet Americans have nerve to call their baseball league
"World series".

But even English people are familiar with the franchises like Detroit
Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks.

The only problem with today's NHL is their comissioner, Gary Buttman.
I'm European but when I lived in the States I learned to appreciate
good, physical North American hockey. Who wants to see these 160 lbs
Czech "finesse" players figure skating on the ice?

More fights and more blood. That's what real hockey fans want.

And fuck the whiny overpaid bitch Eric Lindros and that fat pig, Pat
Quinn. I hope LeClair scores a hat trick in the finals and someone
gives Lindros his final concussion.

You wanted to make your list longer when you added Cuba twice?

It's a known fact that Cuban baseball historian Severino Nieto can't
get his books about baseball published, because Castro refuses to
acknowledge that
organized sports existed before the revolution.

And Venezuela and Dominican Republic? Give me a fucking break. The
only sports they participate in is the annual Miss Universum beauty
contest.

Perhaps they should change the title from "World Series baseball" to
"Third World Series baseball", I take that?

And why didn't you add Somalia, Afghanistan and Albania to your
canonical list?

Don't stereotype. Not all Americans feel this way. It is the best
sport in the world as far as I'm concerned. With nothing coming close.

Baseball is ok if you actually go to the game.

I have no idea why people like football.

They named it that back before we knew there was anyone else in the
world besides us.

They should be. It's Lord Stanley's Cup afterall. Btw, the Red Wings
rawk and the Blackhawks suck.

>The only problem with today's NHL is their comissioner, Gary Buttman.

Bettman turned the NBA around, and I believe that was the idea behind
getting him for the NHL. The NHL was not doing too well before he came
along, and the game was way under-represented here in the US. Not that
it still isn't. But expansion has helped somewhat. At least
financially.

>I'm European but when I lived in the States I learned to appreciate
>good, physical North American hockey. Who wants to see these 160 lbs

Me. And Bettman is not responsible for cleaning up the game. The
cliche "I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out" would be the
mindset behind those decisions. Which were occurring long before
Bettman came along.

I miss the fights, the bench clearing brawls, but I don't like the
consistent checking, hooking, shadowing, and grabbing that slows the
finesse players down.

>More fights and more blood. That's what real hockey fans want.

Fights were fun. But they used to be allowed one more player on the
bench and that was normally the fighter. I still enjoy the game for
the speed and the skill primarily. Yzerman rules.

>And fuck the whiny overpaid bitch Eric Lindros and that fat pig, Pat

Where is Quinn, the former policeman, coaching now? Lindros has always
been over-rated, but I'm completely tired of Philly being
'disappointed' with their hockey players. They need to get over it.

LeClair sucks. Your edict on Lindros is not very nice. Meanie.

I have been in a baseball game. It was like watching the paint dry.

Before the spectators die of boredom, they better have some damned
computer graphics morphing to keep them watching during that
boring-assed game.

People in baseball games are very similar to Grateful Dead (r.i.p)
fans. Unlike hockey fans, not many people care about the sport/music
itself.

[...]

>>But even English people are familiar with the franchises like

Bob Probert alone made me a fan of North American hockey. Back then he
was playing for Detroit. Now he's only a shadow of his former self,
but he's a living legend and he's playing for the Hawks.

So fuck the Dead Wings.

>>The only problem with today's NHL is their comissioner,

Buttman doesn't understand the role of fighting. And for every writer
who does, there are 25 who don't, and sit patiently by the TV watching
sports center waiting for the next violent hockey incident, so they
can write about it the next day. For example if it wasn't Marty
McSorley (an enforcer) who had the stick incident with Huggy Bear, the
media attention would have been MUCH smaller. Media is attacking
old-time hockey, and Buttmann is sucking up to them. During the
process, hockey gained a lot of new fans but lost too many REAL old
hockey fans.

The instigator rule was the worst thing that happened to NHL. Most
finesse players want to get rid of it. Even most referees. 10 years
ago there were much less dangerous high sticks and head injuries,
because everyone knew that after some cheap shot stunt there was
always retaliation coming on its way. Now we have pencil necks like
Vaclav Varada cheap shotting players and getting away with it. And I'm
talking about serious injuries.

>>I'm European but when I lived in the States I learned to appreciate

That problem has nothing to do with fighting. It's the ice surface
that matters. Now there's more huge 6'3, 6'4 and even 6'5 players and
the rink is still the same small rink. I think they should enlarge
the ice surface and at least *try* getting rid of the red line.
Olympic hockey games were more entertaining to watch.

Yzerman and Fedorov would have never scored all those goals if Detroit
didn't have Bob Probert and Darren Mccarty in the roster.

>Where is Quinn, the former policeman, coaching now?

He's coaching the Leafs and the Canadian olympic team.

>Lindros has always been over-rated, but I'm completely tired of
>Philly being 'disappointed' with their hockey players. They need
>to get over it.

Lindros is an asshole. He had all potential in the world to become a
greatest player of his generation. But if he doesn't get enough ice
time, you hear about it. If he doesn't get enough goals, it's somebody
else's fault. If his line isn't productive, he wants his linemates
switched. And if he doesn't say so, mommy and daddy will. And he's 245
pound monster and he needs 4 guys to protect him on the ice.

>>I hope LeClair scores a hat trick in the finals and someone

>LeClair sucks. Your edict on Lindros is not very nice. Meanie.

The world's largest baby, Lindros, is one of the reasons why fans have
to pay $85 to get to watch NHL hockey.

Of course not, why would they? American football is like watching a

The most international professional sport, though, would have to be soccer

Meh. I'd much rather watch good, fast, end-to-end hockey. Which is why I've
not watched any NHL hockey (except for some of the play-offs) for years now.

Nah, you watch everyone else and stuff. It's just fun to be there. But

Yah, he's the only player I've ever known of who was busted at the
Canadian border with cocaine in his underwear.

Probert was cool when he just fought and didn't try to finesse. You
forget, or possibly you don't know, Probert was Yzerman's linemate for
the first seven years or so of Stevie's career. Check Probert's stats.
When was it he scored his personal bests (of 20 goals or so)?

>So fuck the Dead Wings.

The "Dead" Wings lead the NHL in points overall by about 10 points.
They have one of the finest lineups in NHL history, as well as two
Stanley cups in the last five years. They were the team of the 90's.

If you're trying to post semi-intelligently about the NHL you would be
well advised to have at least ~some~ of your facts straight.

There were a lot more serious injuries that occurred before the new
rules on boarding. Not all of the rules are bad.

I agree with you on most of the rest of what you said, however. I miss
the fighting as well. But it is a fact that the majority of the US

I don't think he got to the Allstar game just because he was Yzerman's

serve his purpose? Thanks for proving my point.

Oh, I'm well aware of the NHL team standings. It has nothing to do
with it. Wings have been very successful in the last 10 years, but I
still dislike the team. Yes, they have lots of skill and talent, but
they aren't very colorful team. And their only worthwile rivalry

Yzerman personally stated that Joe Kocur and Bob Probert were very
important factors of Red Wings' success.

Look at Ottawa Senators. They always play very good regular season,
but when the kitchen gets hot, other teams make them their bitches.
That happened last year and year before that. They don't have enough
toughness. The same thing will happen to Detroit if they don't add
more toughness to the roster.

Wanna make a bet?

Bringing up guys like little Sean Avery won't solve anything.

Put the emphasis on "nobody", and see if that helps you to see why that
was an ignorant statement to make. There is a plus side to all of this:
ignorance is curable, stupidity is not.

>Perhaps they should change the title from "World Series baseball" to

Japan is a third world country now? How does Fjinland rate, Tanner?

Is this non-sequitur supposed to make your statement of "Nobody outside of

fuckup, or make you look like less of a prat?

Sure he did. And yep, he was the enforcer. You needed them back then
when every team had a bruiser they would put on the ice to rough up
the best players.

And believe it or not, back then the Wings ~were~ the Dead Wings, and
Probert was one of the more skilled players on the team.

Probert's Stats:

SEASON Team GP G A PTS +/-

1985-86 Detroit Red Wings 44 8 13 21 -14
1986-87 Detroit Red Wings 63 13 11 24 -6
1988-89 Detroit Red Wings 25 4 2 6 -11
1989-90 Detroit Red Wings 4 3 0 3 0
1990-91 Detroit Red Wings 55 16 23 39 -3
1991-92 Detroit Red Wings 63 20 24 44 16
1992-93 Detroit Red Wings 80 14 29 43 -9
1993-94 Detroit Red Wings 66 7 10 17 -1
1995-96 Chicago Blackhawks 78 19 21 40 15
1996-97 Chicago Blackhawks 82 9 14 23 -3
1997-98 Chicago Blackhawks 14 2 1 3 -7

2000-01 Chicago Blackhawks 79 7 12 19 -13
2001-02 Chicago Blackhawks 54 1 3 4 -9

These are not the stats of anyone special. Possibly his addiction to
cocaine might account for the heavy inconsistencies. Would you like to

Yzerman: 19 NHL seasons, 658G/1004A T1662 points which ranks him #6

Lidstrom: 11 142/463 T605 Norris Trophy
Chelios: 19 172/693 T865 3 Norris Trophies

You could say the same thing now about Mario or Theo.

He's definitely damaged goods and plays like a Swede in the corners
(stick first). But I think he played well in this series and I didn't
hear him whining - did you? If you ask me, the real whiner/asshole
is BOBBY CLARKE.

So it's a crime to $ign a big contract? You could say that about
every player on the Canadian men's team. (Not the women, unfortunately.
Goyette's probably back working at Home Depot now.) Having the
brains to sign for lots of money at the end of their careers doesn't
make them assholes or whiners. It just makes them rich.

I agree completely. He's an asshole extraordinaire and Philly really
needs to just STFU. About Roenick too.

I haven't heard Lindros whining -- other than in *defense* of himself
against Clarke -- since he was drafted.

But I didn't see Lindros do anything special in the Olympics other
than skitter off with a frightened look on his face a couple of times.
It's no secret that NY is concerned about his play since his last
concussion.

It was a crime what he did when he was drafted, imo. Just ridiculous.
I don't blame anyone for getting the money, unless they don't produce
afterwards. Fedorov springs to mind.

But don't paint Lindros as some kind of hero. He isn't.

Soccer is growing in popularity in North America because it's probably the
cheapest "professional" sport you can play.

No one knows of/cares about the pro teams in North America because soccer
isn't well suited to our "at least 90 seconds of commercials for every 5
minutes of content" television model.

Maybe that'll change if "Monday Night Football" starts showing a sport where
the ball is actually kicked more than 3 times a game.

Avoid normal situations.

There are lots of great players who don't have Stanley Cup rings.
And it's debatable whether he would have won with the Avalanche
because it was the players that the Nordic(que) got for Eric that
strengthened the franchise.

He certainly made the wrong decision. But you could blame his
father for that. He not only damaged his career but also the
fragile relationship between Quebec and TROC at the time.
But what kid needs that kind of political crap on his conscience?
It's time to forgive and forget. He's had a pretty good career
that was marred by misfortune. People should stop slagging him
for ancient history.

I was more worried for him than for Lindros. Did you see some of the
cross checks they threw at him? And he was a loose cannon in that
last game. Great forechecking - but that's about it. He shot wild.

This shtick needs improvement. People know what you wrote before they
open the post, and that is not a good thing. You can still express the
same sentiment, but try adding some embellishments. Like this:

ARI: Pesäpallo is no more baseball than rugby is American
football.

ANS: Fuck sports. Fuck them with the thick end of a pesäpallo
bat.

That example was a bit vulgar, but rather more effective than the
usual drollery. I realize that you may need an adjustment period
before you can master this new concept - "variation", as I like to
call it - but practice makes perfect. Here, try answering the next
paragraph:

The F1 season begins next weekend in Australia. Mika Häkkinen isn't
driving, but Kimi Räikkonen shouldn't have too much trouble beating
Canada's lone hope, Jacques Villeneuve.

Possibly. Forsberg, wasn't it? I'd chose him over Lindros, anyway.
There is a cliche that's something like: A player is not really
considered to be 'great' unless they've won the Stanley Cup. I suppose
I agree. How great is Hasek? Six Vezinas and two Harts but every time
anyone mentions him they say, "But he's never won a Stanley Cup..."

I'm guessing that we'll find out how great Hasek is. The Wings defense
is not as disciplined as it was when they were running the left wing
trap winning the Cup in '97 and '98.

>He certainly made the wrong decision. But you could blame his

I knew his father was a meddler. But I really blame the NHL for
changing draft rules ~just~ for Lindros.

What is 'TROC'? How did Lindros damage Canadian politics?

>But what kid needs that kind of political crap on his conscience?
>It's time to forgive and forget. He's had a pretty good career

Hmm. I don't know that a 'pretty good career' is enough to stop
slagging him. <g>

Actually, I don't think he's a whiner. I am *so* over Philly
complaining about their players. You'd think Jacques Demers was in
charge down there.

He's a player that everyone loves to hate -- and subsequently wants to
have play for their team. He reminds me of Konstantinov. [tear rolls
down cheek] and Claude Lemieux. Fluery, and I'm only guessing stats
here, has never been ~as~ important for his scoring as he has been for
being the player that gets things going for his team. And he's one of
he best at that.

I didn't realize he was hurt, but the announcers said that the coaches
were asking him if he was ok after every shift. What's wrong with him?

I wish I hadn't let my subscription to the Hockey News expire...

The Wings play tonight *and* tomorrow night but Yzerman and Shanahan
are out for at least two weeks.

I miss having the Leafs in the Norris Division. Come to think of it, I
miss the Norris Division. Detroit had a great rivalry with Toronto.

Fuck sports. Someone should equip all F1 cars with explosives and
detonate just before they reach the finish line -- ~then~ the
brainless, bleating fans can experience some *real* entertainment when
the ensuing fireball sets the stands ablaze.

Hmm. I've watched some World Cup play and thought it was interesting.
But we have a pro soccer team right here in town and I don't know
anyone who goes to see them.

I hate football. My problem with it is that it is too slow, there are
too many players (who seem to be constantly changing around), and I
never see what happened to the ball. Anyway, how big does a team need
to ~be~, ffs? Must take two jets to move one team from city to city.

Third world countries are considered "nobody" when the issue is
international recognition of baseball. That's a fact, like it or not.

If you don't understand or believe what I wrote in my last paragraph,
I think this is when pot is calling the kettle black.

>Japan is a third world country now?

Japan is the only exception in the list you provided. Even Japan isn't
very well recognized in the international sports map. And Japan's

>How does Fjinland rate, Tanner?

"Fjinland". For fuck's sake, where these little clones come from?
Is there a nest somewhere? I bet only about 6.000 alt.flame kiddies
have used it before you.

Back to your question: You're "hinting" that Finland is a "third world
country", right?

Next time when you do that, don't be such a girlie and make these
cowardly "allegations". Be a man, go straight to the issue. But make
sure you'll back up your issue with a few figures.

Okay, talking about this "non-sequitor"... You hinted that Japan
*isn't* a third world country. It sure isn't. But let's choose Japan
in this comparison:

I can't recall the last time a major bank, department store, insurance
company or any other large business at that went bankrupt in Finland,
while in Japan these are a daily occurrence despite government
subsidies that are bleeding the people dry... Japan used to be the
world's largest net creditor, now public debt is 130% of GDP (yeah,
that's WAY worse than ANY of the Latin countries). Investment is
tumbling, GDP growth is negative, the yen is sinking like Titanic...
None of these are hallmarks of a "strong" economy.

However, despite of the international regression, the economy of
Finland has been one of the fastest growing economies inside of the
European Union.

You might want to make your stupid question more specific. What is the
issue you want to discuss about? The usual measurements: economy,
education, or what?

Or do you even know what the definition "third world country" means?

>>And why didn't you add Somalia, Afghanistan and Albania to your
>>canonical list?

>Is this non-sequitur supposed to make your statement of "Nobody

This is rich. After whining and nitpicking that thirld world
countries' and almost third-world countries (listed below) interest in
baseball somehow makes it internationally worthwile sport, you post
totally moronic "allegation" that Finland is a "third world country".
And now you have nerve to talk about "non-sequitors". Tsk, tsk.

Save your time. They're all publicly available for anyone.

Stats don't mean everything. Okay, they do if you're a sniper like
Bure, Hull or Selanne. And the fact that I like Probert has nothing
to do with his stats. You know, I used to play hockey too. I wasn't
very skilled or good in skates, but I had size. Maybe because of
that I was admiring guys like Fotiu, Probert, Nystrom, Williams
and Grimson. I was playing for junior teams and of course we didn't
have "enforcers". As a hockey player I was a nobody, but at least I
learned to understand players' different roles in the team. And I
can only imagine what kind of impact prime Bob Probert had for the
Wings team back then. Many average hockey fans don't know enough
abobut the sport to appreciate these things. They judge players
merely by their stats.

All I'm saying that stats have nothing to do with Probert's
legendary status. And if you ever have a chance to talk with
some older NHL players, just ask them what they think about him.

This guy was just unbelieveable fighter. Compare him to the new
"heavyweight champ" Donald "Huggy Bear" Brashear. There's no
comparison. Probie *demolished* everyone. Brashear looks like a
fucking octopus when he's just grabbing and hugging all his
opponents. New age enforcers are a bad joke.

It's a shame that all that cocaine and booze did it for him. Grimson
is still very effective enforcer at the age of 37. The same can't be
said about Probie. He should hang 'em up after this season. I don't
want to see him going away like McSorley.

It's pretty much the same here. My father, who's in his 50s and still plays
soccer with an "old boys" team, constantly rants about the sorry state of
the soccer fields in the city - but somehow, the city always manages to make
sure the baseball fields are in good condition.

Heh, yeah really. It's about as exciting as watching a chess match with big
lumbering drug addicts replacing the chess pieces. It's almost pathetic to
watch them setting up to kick the ball, when I've watched rugby players
running full out boot the ball perfectly.

It's amazing the amount of squirming you'll do to cover your tracks on the

It's not an accurate statement anyway. The closest Dallas gets to an
enforcer is Sami friggin' Helenius who is going to finish the season
with less PIM than Brendan Shanahan has collected to date if Sami
keeps up his current pace. Montreal has Gino Odjick, but he's playing
less than half of their games. Vancouver has Jason Strudwick, but he
averages less penalty minutes per game than Helenius, and has fought
about seven times during the whole season.

Are these two paragraphs supposed to be related to each other? The
importance of goons goes _down_ in the playoffs. Surely even you, in
all your years of following NHL hockey, have noticed the drop in
fights as soon as the really important games begin?

Last year the finals were played between Colorado and New Jersey. Both
teams have their fair share of tough players, but both lack a real,
live, proper goon. New Jersey has Colin White and Colorado is starting
a guy by the name of Scott Parker, but neither of them is very likely
to strike fear to the hearts of the likes of Scott Stevens or Adam
Foote.

Hey, I happen to think Jacques Demers is a great coach.

I saw him play against Edmonton at the Saddle Dome in '90. He was faster

Ari is a boring shitwit who thinks it's funny to regurgitate a decades-old

Of course you don't. Because you can't. And if you don't want answers,
stop posting idiotic questions. I answered to your question.

And the baseball issue is dead. You might like baseball, but it's not
an international sport. Nobody outside of the U.S borders don't give a
shit about it. Fidel Castro and Cuba are considered "nobody".

You shouldn't have asked if you didn't want an answer! I picked the
nym "anonym" for obvious reasons and then I'd used it for a while when
a friend told me that 'anonym' was a Wollmann nym. So I googled it and
was horrified.

I ~cleared~ it with the alt.config Gods first, they told me they'd
never seen it before. So I just added an 'e' 'cause I was already used
to anonym. Now. Why Bubbles? Champaign?

No-one goes to the baseball team games either. I think we have an
arena football team too. I know we have a hockey team, but they aren't
Dallas' farm team anymore, so they suxor. They used to be the Red

I don't think all teams have enforcers. They don't have room on their
rosters. The players themselves are bigger and stronger, but they have
more skill. Chelios and the other big guys will do just fine.

Scotty may ~look~ like a gorilla, but he's (at least one of) the
winningest coach(es) in NHL history.

I don't. One of the main reason I love Yzerman so much is for his
two-way play. The bruisers you just mentioned are completely unknown
to me except for Grimson. And he plays like a moose-on-skates.

Probert wasn't that fast. Kocur was better, but the sores on his hands
were disgusting.

If they're going to fight, I want to see some swings, not hugs. Blood
is a bonus. Broken noses are worth double.

Most of the farm teams from here are bailing too... the Oiler's farm club

Exactly! Especially when you look at the amount of protective gear they wear

Hehe. It's a much more interesting spectator sport. For one, the play
doesn't stop the second the ball hits the ground. It's just a faster game.

No, it was a question. You snipped out the first half of it in a dishonest
attempt to change it's meaning, dickhead.

"Japan is a third world country now? How does Fjinland rate, Tanner?"

I was merely pointing out how silly it would be to call Japan a third
world country.

In no way does it imply that I thought of Finland as a third world
country. However, if you considered Japan to be a third world country
certainly Finland would be as well. We both know that's not the case,
don't we?

"Japan is a third world country now? How does Fjinland rate, Tanner?"

We both know why you snipped the first half of the question too, don't we?

Tsk.

No, because I don't give a flying fuck about economics. Incredibly enough,
I find that subject even *more* mind-numbing than you.

I already know that Japan is *not* a third world country. Most people
wouldn't consider Taiwan or South Korea third world either.

I just wanted to see how you would backpedal out of this:

>Perhaps they should change the title from "World Series baseball" to

Oh well, at least I got to see you squirm like an eel on the end of a
treble hook.

Not quite. Japan, Cuba, Taiwan, South Korea, Mexico, Venezuela, and the
Dominican Republic. Try not to be so ignorant in the future.

It looks like we've come full circle. And you still don't know what the
word "nobody" means, you dense fuck.

What about Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Mexico, Venezuela, and the
Dominican Republic?

We're not advancing as fast as I hoped. While adding a short,
desultory paragraph in front of the "Fuck sports" bit is at least
something different, it is also a bit of a distraction from the main
course. I'm also worried that you'll regress back to the original,
tedious one-liner the next time someone talks about sports. We'll have
to try once more:

Say, how 'bout them Red Wings?

Obscure reason. I was ghost-writing for a cheapo sci-fi TV series
many years ago. Someone pasted a picture of a chimp at a typewriter
on my computer screen and tagged it "bubbles" - the name of Michael
Jackson's chimp. The nic stuck.

I do know of Gordie, and Ted Lindsay, and the one goalie -- Roger
Crozier? (can't recall, sorry Spooge, if you see this), and Mickey
Redmond. That's about it. And that's just from hearsay, that was all
before my time.

I know a lot more about the history of baseball. Too bad I could care
less about baseball in the present. I stopped caring about the Tigers
when Trammell, Whitaker and Sparky Anderson retired. And then they
built a new stadium and abandoned the place that Ty Cobb built.
Speaking of dirty players.

Fidel Castro and Cuba are considered "nobody". And when it comes to

The ball looks roughly like a football, except it's usually white. The
number of players can vary a bit, but it's typically fifteen. Fundamentally,
it's similar to American football, except of course for the scrum and the
"no forward thrown passes AT ALL" rule

I had a cast on it for a couple months. But if I'm hiking or rock
climbing I use boots with reinforced ankle supports.

I learned my lesson the time I was hiking waaay back in an Indiana
state park and stepped on it wrong. My ankle gave way completely and I
basically stepped on my ankle bone. <shiver>

They had to cart my arse out of there on an ATV. Made for a long day.

So they have to run the ball pretty much completely. Well, that sounds

There's a Boston Market in Salem where the employees clang a loud bell
and exclaim, "Hail Caesar" every time someone orders the Caesar salad.

I shit you not.

You have the strangest theories, Krazy Kate. Please elaborate: What do
you think is seriously wrong with men who have been known to laugh
with short catches of the breath?

Why would you object? I don't understand why you insist on acting like
you're a hockey fan when it's quite obvious you don't know the first
thing about hockey, or the Red Wings for that matter.

>Ye auld farte.

Say, how do you know how old I am? I've tried asking before, but you
dropped the thread for some peculiar reason.

I think I hear someone camping on your front porch.

I'm more astounded by the fact that there's still a Boston Market than
by the other part.

You could come live with Becca and me in Seattle. We're closer,
anyway. Besides, you could almost pretend you were in Portland (except
for the lack of a Chick-fil-a).

We even have a Krispy Kreme.

And so was my ex-husband. That's not stopping me either. And if ~that~
won't stop me, ~you~ certainly can't!

I don't even know where that is. Wherever it is, it isn't near me. ;)

Are you just asking this to watch her skate away from the question, or do
you honestly not know?

The question is, now that I've thought about it, why was it you just
tell me what *city* you live in?
