THE SUPERIOR SIGNS of the planets symbolize the
divine universal archetype of those heavens who
are closing the distance to the Earth by radial
velocity; whereas inferior signs of the planets
symbolize universal archetypes of those heavens
receding away from the Earth by radial velocity.
Hence, near inferior conjunction of the planets
(exactly how near varies due to varying orbital
eccentricities and other factors) it is malefic
because the planet begins separation from souls
incarnated into their respective earthly bodies,
especially those souls which have most recently
souljourned in that presently-receding heavenly
sphere of disincarnate experience or collective
and individuating consciousness a.k.a. "planet".
Thus it is that the zodiacal constellation that
a planet is found in is called arbitrary, since
the essential force of the planet is exerted to
the Earth according to its synodic phase to the
same either superior or inferior; it is benefic
or malefic, it is coming closer to the Earth or
else it is receding further away from the Earth.
This is what gives "teeth" to universal ensigns,
and is effective in real-time centered on Earth.
This is the power of the universal signs of the
planets exerted to the Earth, not the arbitrary
positions of the planets against her caelestial
firmament. These are a part of the Lunars known
by solar conjoins and also solar oppositions of
the planets, which are geocentric, irrespective
of the terrestrial houses of the Earth--but are
relative to their geocenters along their orbits.
Where these universal forces of the planets are
found in the terrestrial meridian houses of the
Earth, again this is what numbers the aforesaid.
Atlas holds up Earth for the Gods and Goddesses.
This is called the themate, thema, or horoscope
which is where the planetary Gods and Goddesses
interact with the sphere of the Earth's control
reference to the meridian of temporal existence
beginning at birth--for every life--until death.
Finally, the iconic groupings of brighter stars
(typically brighter than magnitude 5), commonly
known as constellations or asterisms on Earth's
caelestial firmament, these familiar caelestial
glyphs symbolize the Gods and Goddesses who are
mythically associated with the constellation(s)
of the zodiac on which the stars are positioned.
These caelestial glyphs symbolize the universal
or objective consciousnesses of archetypal-Gods
rather than the application of these archetypes,
which application is made by the synodic phases
of the planets in our solar system as described
herein-above & before. The wise will understand.
