already) some real morons working in Fleet St. When you read what he
actually said, it wasn't "don't use credit cards" (headline on one of
the tabloids today), it was "don't borrow money on your credit card".

TBH I still use my Barclaycard for a lot of things that cost more than a
trivial amount because it's occasionally handy to have someone carrying a
large stick to chase after vendors. I've never had to pay interest on it,
so I suppose that most of the bill for that service is being picked up by
people who probably don't know that it exists. (2.5% probably not covering
paying someone to shout at Mexican hotels in Spanish, for example.)
