Elite 4, Gym Leaders, and a select few Master Trainers are allowed in
this peaceful resort.
On this day, Erica was here. She wasn't here to relax though, she had
nowhere else to live. The horrid Pokemon had destroyed her hometown.
She was grateful that she was able to save some of the pokemon from her
gym.
She laid back in her bed and turned on the TV. Maybe some TV would get
her mind off things. The news was on at the moment.
"... 2 trainers were hurt in last night's Pokemon Rights rally when they
were attacked. There were also reports of Team Rocket members present
using the commotion to steal pokemon.
"The Elite 4 has passed a ruling today concerning the 3 Legendary Birds.
Alice Carrison reports live from Professor Oak's lab with detals and
information. Alice?"
"Thanks Greg. I'm here with Professor Oak with information about the
Elite 4's decisicion. Professor?"
"Thank you Alice. As some Pokemon trainers may have heard, there are 3
legendary birds that have been sighted: Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.
These birds were captured, but due to their power, they escaped. After
they were caught, they would not obey commands at all and immeadiately
flew away. However, the Master Trainer who did catch them breifly,
Rodney Evojian, gathered an amazing amount of data."
"Professor Oak, these birds are extremely rare, correct?"
"That's correct Alice. They are one of a kind. As a result, the Elite 4
have ruled that these birds are 'protected' meaning they cannot be
captured. Pokeballs all over the world have already been programmed so
that they cannot catch these birds. This has been done using Silph's
World Wide Pokeweb."
"Thank you Professor Oak. The information on these birds is being
analyzed and will be released to the general public when studies are
complete. This is Alice Carrison reporting from Pallet. Back to you
Greg."
"Thank you Alice. Coming up later, our specal report on the Safari Zone
and how you can make your admission count. But first, a word from our
sponsors."
<A Growlithe runs across a feild to it's master while she pets him>
"When my Growlithe is done with a hard day of training, there's nothing
better for him than Pokechow. It's Vitam.." <mute>
Erica sighed. She never likes the generic food Silph made for Pokemon.
A good trainer works hard to make their own food for their pokemon. She
turned the mute off when the news came back.
"Welcome back, I'm Greg Korisi. Recently, the Cinnabar Research Lab has
released information stating that the creature known as Mew has been
returned to the Jungle where it was found. It's offspring, the famous
Mewtwo, was captured and sent to the jungle, where, according to those
who released him, he's never been happier."
<film clip> "I was one who survived his first onslaught on the mansion.
I look at him now, and he's nothing like he was back then. He looks
happy for once. It's just... it's touching. Really, I mean..."
<Greg> "Mew and Mewtwo were released into a Pokemon preserve. The Elite
4 has placed them under 'protected' status, meaning they cannot be
caught."
<peice of paper is handed to Greg> "This just in, the Pokemon responsible
for the destruction of Celadon" <Erica turned up the volume> "was found
in Vermillion City and attacked several buildings. Notably, the Pokemon
Center and the Gym, led by Lt. Surge, were targeted first. Police
captured the pokemon but it broke out of the Master Ball that was used on
it. According to witnesses, it looked similar to a ... is this right?
The report here says some sources claimed it was a Staryu, others say a
Dragonite. A genetic sample confirms that this was the same creature
that destroyed Celadon, but that creature was a Tangela from the ones who
survived that attack." <click!>
Erica turned off the television. This was weird. She saw the
destruction of her gym first hand. Her own Tangela dragged her out
before she got severely hurt. She rubbed her ankle were a board fell on
it. First Team Rocket, then some weird Ninetales tore the place apart.
What was going on? A Ninetales wrecked her gym, but the same pokemon was
a Tangela? It sounded like a ditto, but no Ditto she knew of could do
that. She remembered reading about Mew, who could copy critters at will.
Maybe they had crossed a Mew with a Ditto... nah, this was sounding like
some crazy sci-fi story.
Well, she figured she better go downstairs to welcome Lt. Surge. He'd
probably be raging mad. And his Raichu wouldn't be much better.

"Fine." Trent walked around the rubble, searching for any survivors. He found

"A giant Pokémon destroyed the city. Can you please help me.?"
"Thanks. What-help you? No."
"Please, mister."
"Why should I?"
"Please!"
Trent thought to himself for a minute. "Nah." he said, and walked off.
Sandslash helped him out of the rubble behind Trent's back.
"Maybe the gym's still around. It better be!"
"Went to Azure Heights" read the note. Clearly Erika's handwriting, Trent
recognized her handwriting anywhere.
"What the hell's Azure Heights?"

Lt. Surge stormed into the Azure Heights Resort and was furious. He had
lost his gym to some super powered Seel. A Seel of all creatures! Why
the heck was a Seel attacking his Gym?
Lt. Surge slammed on the desk bell. "How about some #$@$ing service!"
A clerk suddenly showed up. "Sorry Lieutenant. I was busy on a phone
call."
"Give me a room!"
"Y..yes sir."
"Calm down Surge, before you have a heart attack." Surge turned towards
the person who would so rudely address him like that... only to come
face to face with Erica.
"Oh, it's just you Erica. What are you doing here?"
"You didn't hear? My Gym was demolished. Some crazy Ninetails destroyed
it."
"What? A Ninetales? I had a Seel tear mine apart. What with these
Pokemon?"
"They were both one in the same."
"Yeah, sure. One in the same. My specialty may be Electric Pokemon, but
even I know a Ninetales is a Fire Pokemon and a Seel is an Ice and Water
type Pokemon."
"In Celadon and your town, they found DNA traces. They're the same
creature. They captured it in Vermillion, but it escaped from the Master
Ball it was in."
"What in the name of Zapdos is going on?"
"I don't know. I asked to speak with Bruno to see if he could tell me
what the Elite 4 is planning to do."
"That muscle head?"
"Don't forget, he has a crush on me." Erica winked.
"Cute, girl. Manipulate him to your own ends. Well when he gets here,
find out what you can and let me know. We may need to bring the other
gym leaders in on this. We need some attack plan."
"Don't go waging war yet, Surge. Let's take it one step at a time."
"Heh. For a teenager, you're very calculating."
"Excuse you, I just turned 21. Wish me a happy birthday and then I'm
going to get ready for my encounter with Bruno."

"Bruno! Remember what I told you!"
Bruno was getting ready to lift off on a Pidgeot when Lance shouted
behind him. "Don't worry Lance, I won't forget!"
"And don't let your crush on Erica get the better of you!"
"For the last time! I don't have a crush on her!" Bruno lifted off and
flew toward Azure Heights. Loreli came up behind Lance. "Do you thnk we
can trust him to keep his mouth shut?"
"I doubt it Loreli. But we have to keep suspicion down for now. If I
didn't send him, Erica would starting doing her own research. We have to
keep this under wraps as long as possible. Has anyone found the Ditto
Team Rocket stole?"
"Not yet. Our sources say he escaped some time ago. We're talking about
the one named Mimic, right?"
"Right. Doppler is the one on the rampage. I'm going to go see
Professor Oak. He knows more about them than we do."
"What about Agatha? She asked that he be left out of this."
"Lives are at stake, both human and Pokemon. And remember, I'm the
leader of the Elite 4! Whatever I say, goes! Let's go Aerodactyl!"
Lance unleashed his Aerodacytl, which grabbed him and started flying
towards Pallet.
