Cool! Rene directed - this is usually a good thing.
I WANT that coat Nikita's wearing. Well it would be too tight...but not by
much.
I could just hear the Royettes squealing when Mikey said "I do". That whole
wedding scenario was cheeky at best. The wags in IRC started singing Billy
Idol's "White Wedding". Those guys! LOL
*sigh* Gene! Now THAT'S who makes ME squeal...
WHOA Cheap shot, Operations "getting into bed with the boss' daughter." I
love it when he's nasty. I've always loved those nose to nose things with
Ops and Mikey.

comforting Mikey after his dog died or something. What was up with that
nekked hugging without hip motion? At first I thought Mikey was going
south, but instead, he appeared to have fallen asleep in Nikita's bosom.

Did it strike anyone else as strange that Mikey would jump right back to
Nikita after she told him she didn't love him? I know, she said 'I lied',
but still...
Lots of horking during the Quinn/Ops scene. Mine included.
OK, it's official. They've made Quinn into a skanky bitch. Too bad. The
character was so appealing.

and television. Not necessary, IMNSHO. Enough exploitation of children in
the REAL world, for crying out loud! Cheap plot device.

OK, I know Mikey is the Man Of Steel, but I still don't believe he could be
so blasé about Adam being taken. This is the man who cried his eyes out,
simply because he knew he could no longer live his life with the child. Now
that the kid is in clear danger, he just mopes around in typical Mikey mode?
Not bloody likely. Before you Royettes jump down my throat, I'm not
blaming Roy, just the script.
The death of Ops took all the wind out of my sails, but of course, without
Maddy, his character was left with little to work with. I'll miss most of
the characters/actors on the show, but I rather hoped we'd see some TV
movies or something with them in the future. Scratch that.
While the scenes of Adam's abduction and Ops' death were certainly gripping,
I disliked those parts for the reasons I've stated. There are better ways
to keep the audience interested.

re-using all old sets and costumes, etc. I'm like getting Deja Vu all over again
and again on these final 8. I suppose it's more cost-cutting measures...

For Section's "formidable foe" it sure seems like the Collective is run by two
bickering yahoos if you ask me!

I've always maintained that Mikey is the more in love of the two, and more
fettered by their relationship and Nikita is often manly in their pairing, like
when SHE cuddled HIM... you know what I mean???

Me too, but obviously we were too optimistic on this front. As always, I'm too

Time has passed. He's gotten use to being without Adam, and I daresay
he's had bigger concerns since then. Like staying alive. What would
good would a mauldlin display of emotion do Adam now? No, I prefer
Michael seemingly cold and unemotional, because we know his brain is
engaged and he's a lot scarier.

talking to Ops, about how she had enjoyed "it," and had enjoyed him?
In every scene where they've done the "maybe we'll be a couple" thing, whether
in Section or in the Tower, he has treated her like something to be wiped off
the bottom of a cheap pair of shoes. He's been cold, rude, insulting, snide,
and cruel. He's shown her less consideration than he would show a backstreet
prostitute.
WHAT did Quinn enjoy about their time together, for chrissake? Being treated
like dirt? Being sneered at and demeaned? Grovelling repeatedly at his
pointy-booted feet?
This writing goes along with Maddie being a frigid bitch who kills herself the
first time she's thwarted, and Nikita being a lying manipulative bitch who
screws over everyone, including Michael and Walter in FLYF.
Yeeesh. <shudder> Jeez.

Not a bad observation. Michael definitely loves with every part of
his being and it makes sense that he would try to keep distance
between himself and Nikita during the earlier seasons knowing that
about himself. I don't know when Nikita got so jaded. It appears
that she is more of a control freak than Michael ever thought about
being when it comes to matters of the heart. Still, I liked the way
she cuddled him because God knows he needed some serious cuddling (and
nobody called me for the job), and when was the last time Nikita
appeared nurturing to anyone??????????

I agree, but when he lost Adam before, he was genuinely helpless, whereas here
he can actually do something to help if he can hold it together.
But again, I still agree.

" Sure. Just I enjoy being disemboweled".
She's such a real study of character.
Great scene with Walter and Quinn though. Gotta love Walter, honesty
and anger tempered with compassion.
Mikey should have no trouble giving them Mr. Jones since there have been
several of them.

Actually wick, blame Roy for that one. The script had Michael yelling "No" at
the top of his lungs. Personnally I hated this part of the script since IMHO
Michael would try to solve the situation before panicking. So, I'm glad he's in
mission mode rather than crying.
From the transcript I read I might like that ep. The absence of WMS sucks but
at least I'm spoiled and prepared for it. Love Gabie's reaction though LOL

The before part is the one that bothers me, as far as being lame. But

Hmmm, that's not what I saw. I saw a man who has had years of
practice at not showing his feelings, take a hit that must have just
about killed him. And at a time when he was most vulnerable. The
prize was in sight, he had Nikita back and was going to have his son
as well. I thought Roy's portrayal of Michael was perfect--no outward
reaction but a look in his eyes that spoke volumes. He knew that he
had inadvertently handed them his son and that in all likelihood there
was going to be no way out of this one. But, being our Mikey, you
know that the wheels are already turning in that brain, sorting
through all possible options.
I thought the reunion love scene was flat as old Coke. They really
should have let a romance writer handle this one. I thought the "I
lied"- "I know" was perfect, the slow walk across, the hand dance was
good but then YAWN. And, no, I do *not* have to see *the act* but I
do need to see some hunger, some tension, some passion. I saw nothing
of the old sizzling chemistry that has always been a hallmark of the
Michael/Nikita scenes of the past.
I hate the way they ended Op's life. What an ignoble end for a
wonderful character. And the person here who should have been shot
was the foster mother who was supposed to be watching Adam. Sure,
just let the kid run off down a dark alley chasing his car.
And you know that Section is well and truly gone to hell in a
handbasket when you see Walter sitting on the floor in the Perch
getting drunk.

Not me. His eyes showed absolutely nothing to me, despite having been so
expressive in the past. Old timers like you should remember that I've often
said how marvelously expressive Dupuis can be with his eyes, but he let me
down that time.

Maybe he was in shock. Or, maybe he was remembering when, a few hours
earlier, Nikita's beeper went off, and they both decided to ignore it
because it couldn't possibly be more important than their private time
together.
It pains me to agree with Quinn, but she was right when she said that
Nikita should always be on-call in case of emergencies like this.

Exactly. What did you want him to do, scream, "Oh no!" and rend his
clothing. He did exactly what I would expect him to do. He took the
blow, forced it down into the dark recesses until he could deal with
it. It's exactly the way I react in emergency situations. When I
worked in the ER, we would see things that would make you want to puke
or scream, but you didn't. You showed no emotion and you dealt with
the problem. When it was all over, and you were no longer needed,
then you could come apart, but not while there is work to be done and
not where people who need your strength can see.

The first time I saw the episode and Adam ran off, for a moment he stops and
looks around the park. It's suddenly deserted and he realizes it. I remember
thinking, he's got a bit of his father in him! ;) Memories of FLYF. Then,
because he is a small child, he doesn't register the danger and chases after
the errant car anyway.
On second view, I wonder if they weren't showing us his Michael heritage but
also that the foster mother is mysteriously missing with everyone else.
Perhaps she *couldn't* go after him.

My mother's instinct reacted the moment he started after the car.
When she said, "Adam," when he first started after it, would have had
me saying, "Adam, come here right now." Of course, I would be dead
because then I would have gone after the car with him. :)

I agree with Steve. I wrote this somewhere else (might've been here, even) so
forgive me if I repeat myself.
Adam runs after the truck and then stops at the entrance to the garage. He
looks back around him and *clearly* notices that the entire park is suddenly
empty. I remember thinking, "Oh, cool. He's got his father in him. He
notices things like that instintively." But, since he's an innocent child he
has no reason to understand the danger it means. So, he continues on after the
errant toy.
Even though it's a sad one, I love that scene.

Well as I said, even though it may be wholly implausible that someone
would behave that way, it's at least consistent with the _character_ as
written. That is, this wasn't a violation of the story's internal logic.
But, of course, while internal consistency may be necessary, it's not
sufficient to make for a good story. FWIW, I don't buy the callousness
of the character either, at least not the way EW plays him.
