My dads mate works for newcastle crown court. He said that a certain
footballer went there to prevent media coverage of an unamed woman claiming
she had had an affair with him. The unamed footballer was in fact a retired
footballer called Gary Lineker

Gary Lineker was involved in something similar a while ago. It's not him
this time.

WHO really gives a shit?, whoops you lot who posted above my reply. What
happened did the feminine side of your personas get the better of you and
you just had to gossip about the failings of someone else.

Buzz - wrong answer: the player who's been caught this time was in the
England World Cup squad. I know who it is too.

If the Irish 'papers are right, then it's ******* ****. (work it out
yourself)

IIRC, wasn't Lineker the one who was being stalked or something? (I'm not
totally certain on what it was, all I know was that the one who was meant to
have done it topped themselves whilst waiting for sentencing)

BINGO!! Give that man a gold star.

The woman in question was from Washington. Was a bit disturbed by all
accounts and killed herself while on remand awaiting trial if memory serves.
A rather sad and quite tragic affair.

You hit the nail on the head, this group and the Toon one contains banter
about the respective clubs and their players. What a mystery player does in
his private life is boring and speculation and gossip should be left to the
tabloids.

When a you have to sink to waffle about someones private life and who he
shagged and if he has been unfaithful to his missus and not about the club
which the NG supporting, then there is something sadly amiss.

Well, to be fair, all I did was to confirm the identity of who the story was
*not* about.

I too am against the worship of the celebrity, and find all this crap about
their private lives pathetic, after all, they are human.......

Though the fact that it is a certain Welsh Scouser this time does add a bit
of comedy value.......
