The remailer seems to be working again. I wasn't able to get it
working using my ip as part of the name, so I reluctantly registered
with another ip redirection outfit. I say 'reluctantly', because it
doesn't seem to take much to get kicked out of these places.

Anyway, it seems to work. Please run a few tests, if you would, to
help me confirm that everything is working.

The remailer name is now: ches...@cheshire.hopto.org.

The keys are:

My thanks to Frog-Admin and the other gentleman for the information
about synonyms and key manipulation. I think I screwed up the key
stuff, so consider mail to the old address to be lost.

YES
I aliased ches...@cheshire.dyndns.org to ches...@cheshire.hopto.org
and everything (which had been bounced) went through
stats at 100% ---> no mail lost Frog>Cheshire

>I wasn't able to get it
>working using my ip as part of the name

What was the problem?

I tried and cheshire@[216.154.65.55] would correctly accept mail
--->you probably did what you had to with Mercury|Configuration|CoreModule|LocalDomains
I actually sent *a_few* batches of remailer-xxx requests and I received the replies.

This is evidence that Mercury32 works well, and properly feeds Reliable.

Was there a problem inside Reliable? which one? I can't imagine any

___________
Keep your old secret keys for a while, like for a standard key change
And request an aliasing of ches...@cheshire.dyndns.org to ches...@cheshire.hopto.org
by remops, for the same duration, so that there is no mail lost until the pipe dries.

Excellent. Very glad to hear it; since I was blindly following
directions, I wasn't too hopeful they would work.

I'm not sure, except that none of my tests went through, and a lot of
bounces began showing up with a message that the remailer sending the
bounce could not resolve cheshire@[216.154.65.55] as a legitimate
domain.

>
>I tried and cheshire@[216.154.65.55] would correctly accept mail

I could see message coming into the mail server, including tests that
I sent.

Yes, I think that part was set up correctly.

I don't think it was reliable.

I'll do that. Thanks again for your help.

Do you mean:
- -you were trying to send mail
- -the MTA you were trying to send to would not accept the mail

If that is the case,
that is your Reliable|Options|Configuration|Send|SMTPFromAddress
the other MTA was not happy with
That is where the bounces go, so I use FrogB...@iFrance.com
