Subject: PSI Creates Three-Way Frame Relay Network

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PSI CREATES THREE-WAY FRAME RELAY NETWORK
WITH COMPANIES IN FLORIDA, WASHINGTON

RESTON, VA, April 20, 1993 -- Achieving what it believes is a milestone
in computer internetworking, Performance Systems International, Inc. (PSI)
has created a three-way Frame Relay network linking companies on opposite
ends of the U.S.

Using its own national fast-packet network as a backbone and Frame Relay
Network-to-Network (NNI) support, PSI has linked PacNet, Inc. of Mercer
Island, Wa., and Intermedia Communications of Tampa, Fl.

"What this means is a customer on PacNet's network who wants to connect
with Intermedia's network can do so through the NNI standard with PSI,"
said Martin Schoffstall, PSI's vice president and chief technical officer.
PSI's Frame Relay customers can also connect to Intermedia and PacNet," he
added.

"This is a monumental achievement and I think it is the first NNI
connection in the U.S."

PSI is a four-year-old internetworking service provider located in a suburb of
Washington, D.C. It is the largest provider of commercial access to the global
TCP/IP Internet, and also provides dial-up and wireless Internet access for
individual users. InterFrame is its "fast packet" product designed to provide
data transmission on a more economical basis than private leased-line
networks.

"We have one of the largest Frame Relay operations in the world, with
service available in more than 100 U.S. cities," Schoffstall said. "Unlike
other centralized service providers, PSI is deploying more than 100 Frame Relay
switches in 1993, providing unparalleled reliability."

"We view the NNI connection with PacNet and Intermedia as a major
advancement in Frame Relay technology, one that will facilitate even greater,
more efficient use of intra-corporate data transmission," he said.

Schoffstall pointed out that the companies receive an added bonus through
their PSI connection: access to the vast research, information-sharing and
electronic messaging capabilities of the Internet.

Florida's Internet Gateway

"Our connection to the Internet through PSI will be extremely beneficial to
Florida's business and academic communities, and should have a real impact
on economic development in our state," said Barbara Samson, Intermedia's
senior vice president for corporate development. "For the first time, many
research organizations will be able to afford Internet access."

Shifting locations to the Pacific Northwest, PacNet, Inc. sees many of the same
advantages to its PSI connection as Intermedia.

"We believe that PSI and PacNet form an important partnership by extending
PSI's Frame Relay service into the Northwest," said PacNet's president Dick
Stroup. "As new customers sign up for our PakLink service, we are finding
more who are also interested in Internet access." PakLink is PacNet's Frame
Relay service.

PSI is a value-added internetworking services provider offering a wide
variety of services for individual and corporate users of electronic
information. Services range from electronic mail products to turnkey
integration of local area networks into the PSINet wide area network system
and the Internet.
