Arthur, this site is an embarrassment.

There are some 13 links, totally unexplained, linking to:

- a five-chapter essay you wrote in 1972, plus revised version of same
- three blurbs with your diagram

I withdraw my offer to link to it from my Outsider's Guide.

If you have anything to say other than how wonderful you are, please
summarize ***the content*** and post it here and on your site.

Anybody can have a glimpse of the truth, but when you present it
the way you do, ***nobody*** cares...

Aw, gee, Jorn, I return to this Poor Man's AI Lab full of Amigas
from my stressfull day-job at (code-name) Hotel Prager Fruehling
and I log onto DejaNews to find your withdrawal of certification.

That New Civ site isn't mine to post anything, nor is another site
http://www.complex.com.pl/~venom/science.html somewhere in Poland.

In 1992, Whole Earth Review said people could join a "Consciousness"
many-to-many written dialog group, so I mailed in my SASE and waited.
Eventually WER wrote me back that not enough people applied to join,
but they sent a list of M2M's including "Designing and Building New
Civilizations." When New Civ announced a forthcoming CD-ROM in 1995,
I mailed them for inclusion an IBM diskette of my archival AI files.

Suddenly on 6.NOV.1995 New Civ issued e-mail telling me to check out
the "Project Mentifex" website that they had established for me, and
that very day I began this series of posts that you have misprisioned.
Some other people have even sent complaint mail to the Polish site
that I have NOT EVER had any sort of contact with: no site is mine.

But, Jorn! SOMEBODY has got to stand up to Drew "N.Y.T." McDermott,
who wrote in America's "Newspaper of Record" (subs: 1-800-641-3901)
of 14 May 1997 that there is no "Grand Unified Theory of Thought" on
the horizon -- in total disregard of all these neurotheoreticians
who post along with me and thee in the Kantrowitzian AI newsgroups.

Then two days ago Drew McDermott addressed Subject: Re: How stuck is AI?

Jorn! Mark! Drew! AI at its noblest has to be the study of mind!

Pardon my ignorance in not knowing what a point prediction is, and
let me trot out some standard apologetic points for crying Eureka!
- This Standard Model of the Mind deserves Fliegerabwehrkanone--flak.
- Those who push the envelope of AI must suffer scornful condemnation.
- Although it is not so much a measurable prediction as a qualitative
one, this model predicts that the mind arises BETWEEN memory channels.
- This theory of mind "predicts" or "satisfies" the preservation of
massive parallelism WITHOUT bottlenecking anywhere in the mindgrid.
- The model predicts a path of evolution up to and "ueber" humans.
