WORLD SURF DAY 1994 - ANNOUNCEMENT

This is enough to convince me that we should proceed. So...
Announcing "World Surf Day 1994"!!!
This event will be held on September 18th, 1994. To participate, all you
have to do is grab your stick, get wet (no, the shower doesn't count!),
and either post or email me a surf report for that day. Email should be
sent to "kie...@gemstone.com". I'll archive the reports and post a
summary to the net within a couple of days.
The World Surf Day is basically just a show of camaraderie among surfers
on the net. I'm not gonna try to define it any more than that because I'm
sure we all have our own interpretations. I believe it originally started
simply because it seemed like kind of a cool idea and people were getting
bored. ... This seems like an excellent reason to continue it, too. :)
Just FYI, the last World Surf Day, held 4/3/1993, had over 30
participants. It'd be nice to see that kind of turnout again but no big
deal if we don't... this isn't a competition.
So, to suggest a report format (which you are not required to stick to, by
any means)...
