I have a very cool husband! I just gotta say it publicly! I feel like I
don't even deserve him cuz I'm such a pain in the butt with all my aches and
pains, mentally and physically!

Since I've become gimped...my only sanity is music. I have always been in
love with music and it helps me to focus OFF my pain and anxiety!
We have computers laying everywhere here, so he turned one into a music
server!!!! Yes, he's been "ripping" our CD's onto its hard drive and I can
access it from my computer...or any computer with just a mere click! All
our CD's at a glance! I can't sit long...but my ears still work! I've had
tunes blaring all night without even having to bend and pick out CD's and
put them in the player. Right now I'm in Van Morrison (one of my all time
favorites). A to Z, I am the happiest woman in the world tonight (gimpy or
not). Now I need to help others feel this way. Where do I begin? We have
parts everywhere!

Thanks for letting me babble something happy for a change!!!!

Love you all...and thanks for always being there whether I'm happy or
sad!!!!

Very cool, ((((((((Gigglz)))))))

I have plans to do the same with my music collection.

I can see a rack full of Dell hard drives with RAID backup
and 100 Megabit per second connectivity to every room in
my house :-D

The ultimate music jukebox.

"We must be in heaven, man"

What software are you using to organize your collection ?

Tell your husband that I think he's cool : )

Tony

PS: How many "Giggz" of music do you have ? : )

Of course you deserve him, you are a delightful person. He seems to

Same here, Van the Man!

You are too sweet!! Thank you :-) I guess he must think so...but I don't
know how he can. He deserves a healthy wife :-(

I want to steal him away! My favorite CD is "Common One". It reminds me
of my many trips to my favorite place, "Glacier".

He is wonderful :-)
Sometimes...just for the hellofit...my husband comes home with a beautiful
bouquet of fresh cut flowers :-) They last for days and scent the whole
room. Aromatherapy is wonderful. Sometimes a surprise dinner out :-)
Sometimes, a beautiful mushy card :-) The options are endless. What
does she like?

You sound very sweet!

With iTunes, you can install it on all the computers and just share the
music that way (though VNC lets you stop and start computers remotely). In
any case, that is what my wife and I use - just iTunes.

My wife and I just took a road trip - decided we wanted our collection
there, too. No iPod, though, so could not do it in an ideal way. I just
opened our main play list - hit the burn button, and iTunes was smart enough
to tell me there was too much for one CD. It allowed me to burn the same
randomized play list on a series of CD's - so we now have 10 CD's of music
we like.

We did not have a CD player in the car, so we got a iRock to connect to a
walkman - allows us to play the music from the walkman on a radio station
and listen via the car's radio. Works like a charm.

I think its cool that you want to post a note praising your dh. Too
often in our society, good hubbies (men in general, for that matter)
don't get the "props" they deserve.

Sounds like a great guy.

Yup, he just showed me that. I was a little confused as to why I need to
have BOTH of those on my computer when I only want to access the music. I
don't really need the VNC...but he put it on there any way. I just click on
iTunes and there they are :-) I'm really enjoying this SO much!!

Wow!!! We're going to have RAID to back all of this stuff up....wouldn't
want to have to rip all those CD's again :-(
Isn't this cool?
Tell me...when you use your iTunes...do you get occasional 'bleeps' from the
buffer? I'm wondering if it's just cuz I'm using my computer right now.

Flowers...and not from the florist, they are toooooo expensive. Just stop
by your local grocery store and get a pretty bouquet for only about $5.99 -

Whichever way you use it - as long as it is working for you. :)

It will very very rarely skip for a seconds when I am opening large files in
PhotoShop - even then it is rare. I am on a Mac (not sure it you are). It
*may* work better there than on Windows (being made by Apple...).

About $30 at Radio Shack - and the new ones even have car adapters... then
again, I use the plug in adapter for the CD player. I am sure there are
other companies who make similar devices. the iRock is just the first one I
found.

Yup, it's working like a charm :-) We had it blaring all New Year's Eve.
It was so fun not having to change CD's !! Woo Hoo!

I'm not on Mac, just PC. I noticed on New Year's Eve, there were no skips
(buffer issues)...but we just had it going through the laptop and nobody was
using it.
