Remote Print Server Question

Hi

I am trying to setup a HP deskjet 840c printer on a Dlink DP-301p under Sco
Open Server 5.0.4 using LPR.

The problem is that when the page has printed the printer does not do a
form feed and causes a print error light on the printer.

I think the problem is that there is no interfaces file being used for the
printer as
all that is setup for LPR is a host name and port name for the print server.

Is there a way of installing the printer as a local printer so it uses a
local interface file
and then making it print to a remote IP address and port rather than a local
port?

Or could anyone recommend a print server and print that would work using LPR
on sco 5.0.4 without any problems.

Any help would be great!

Of course. What you weant is what we usually call a "virtual printer"- one
that does something to the output before passing it to a real printer. See
http://pcunix.com/SCOFAQ/scotec7.html#virtualprint for examples of setting
this up.

Well, I've used quite a few- I like the Netgear PS110, or really any of them
that allow direct printing to a port with netcat ( see
http://pcunix.com/Unixart/netprint.html )
