Thinking of joining Kit Woolsey's GammOnLine and wandering if anybody
had anything negative to say about the service.

Kit's site is the best learning tool(other than actually playing)
that i have ever seen and I have read almost all the books and seen many of the
sites. It is worth WAY more than the 36 dollars per year that he charges. For
those who want to improve their money and tournament play it
is(IMHO)practically a gift.

Well, Sally Woolsey could have rolled a bit better in the first online
match! But other than that, I can't praise it enough. The Match of the
Month alone makes it well worth the price of admission.

There's a free demo issue which you can check out to get an idea.

Well, Adam, if you're waiting for negative feedback, you could be checking
here for days.

It is an excellent service for all levels of players. I think being a member
also gives you access to previous issues. There are new articles every
month, a bulletin board much like this newsgroup and an ongoing match
between the readers and Kit where we all vote on the best move against him
every day. The first 11-point match we lost to that lucky duck 11-7, but
we're leading the latest 1-0 and the second game of this match is a very
close race.

There is also a monthly quiz based on 8 different problem positions.
Everyone make their choices and they are registered. The solutions come out
the following month and the reader with the highest score wins a free
one-year subscription to GammOnLine. The scoring is done in a very fair way
because you score points for each puzzle based, not only on a Snowie
analysis, but that of 9 other human judges or panelists.

I like Kit's newsletter a lot and recommend it, definitely worth many times
more the $3.00 a month he charges for it.

Best regards,

Michael

I agree very much with what the others have said.
GammOnLine is the best thing that has happened to students of the game for a
long time. It's the best 36$ you could possibly spend on Backgammon.

Yes I have:

Why did we have to wait so long to get an BG online magazin as excellent
as BackgammOnline is? What a pitty! But at least, now it is here! ;-)

I cannot think of one single negative thing to say about Kit's site. It is
sooooooo good that the small fee charged is nothing compared to what you
receive in return. Not only is it a fantastic place to learn more but it is
a fun place too (I especially enjoy the ongoing match between Kit & the
readers' voted moves). GammOnLine is my first stop on the Net each day.
