Previous Microsoft scandals:
Microsoft fakes public support:
http://www.latimes.com/HOME/NEWS/BUSINESS/UPDATES/lat_microsoft0410.htm
Microsoft pays college professors for recommending MS products:

Moral:
If you hear any one (it could be your professor, the "independent"
institute, your dad, your wife) supporting Microsoft or recommending
Microsoft products, chances are, they are being paid by Microsoft.

Correct me if im wrong but isnt this newsgroups subject matter Java?
OK. I'll correct you. The advocacy news group has never been devoted
to Java. I thought so too once. But it's obvious subject matter is
'bashing'.
But that's ok. I can bash with the best of them.

Are other companies guilty of this type of behavior as well,
"Tailgunner Petilon"?
For a start at hunting Reds under the bed, see:

No. Not in a long time as a matter of fact (cept for installing new
software of course).

You obviously don't get it! Windows/C++/Visual Basic/anything M$ just
flat out SUCKS, therefore, Java rules. Logical, no?
There are many newsgroups that have Java as their subject matter.
Have you ever wondered how this one is different from the others?
This is the Java newsgroup where Microsoft pays people to post FUD.
This is where you find lies and propaganda posted incognito by
Microsoft employees.
Every time a negative news story about Microsoft's latest misdeeds
surfaces, people like Chris Kelly come out of the woodworks to
explain away, support, and praise Microsoft. Have you never wondered
about the motivations of these people? Have you never wondered about
the people who condone illegal, egregious behavior by Microsoft by
claiming everyone else does it too?
Don't the stories I pointed you to provide a plausible explanation?
Is it not relevant to what goes on in this newsgroup?
(P.S. Before anyone says they wonder about my support for Sun --
I don't support Sun. I support competition. I love technology.
I firmly believe competition is essential for advancement of
technology. I want Sun and Microsoft to compete on the basis of
their technologies, not on the basis of who is smarter at writing
contracts, or who has better lawyers or marketeers. If you search
dejanews you can find plenty of occasions where I have been harsh
on Sun too.)

Ah, yes, you have to reboot after installing new software, don't you.
Another lovable aspect of MS OS's.

My opinions are not necessarily those of my employers.
I'm growing skeptical of your cynicism.

Have you never wondered about the people who propose to be
judge, jury and executioner by asserting they know what is
illegal without the benefit of a law background or without all
the pertinent details of a case?

Well, you can push for this ideal but the practicality of the matter is
that it will never happen. Business has never been only about who
has the better mousetrap.
Actually, every time you post something I find extremely funny, I try
my darnedest to return the favor by replying. ;)
Your latest post takes the cake: "If you hear any one (it could be
your professor, the "independent" institute, your dad, your wife)
supporting Microsoft or recommending Microsoft products, chances are,
they are being paid by Microsoft." Have you been reading up on Joe
McCarthy lately or something?
If you think I'm a paid MS FUDster, please come right out and say it.
BTW, the correct phrase is "out of the woodwork", no "s". ;)

Correct. comp.lang.java.advocacy is just another way of spelling,
"alt.flame". :-)
