And how much Turkish Meskhetians will like to return into the country with
christian symbolics on the flag?:-)
Seriously, what is really going on?
Why was that necessery to add nationality in passports and what crosses have
to do on the flag? Very soon cross will end up in passport I guess.
I think sending 1000 years old icons oceans away is not a good idea but it
doesn't mean that the people who oppose to this should be that fanatic that
they add corss to the flag.
Are there decent human beings invloved in politics or social life in
Georgia now???
Guys, why don't you stop fanatics from doing crazy things?
Our poor parliamentaries have no idea that they should ask for their voters'
oppinion sometimes.
I remember how nihhilistically they were treating citizens in the government
building if they wanted to talk with representatives based on ther rights
given to them by their citizenship.
If some of us are affreid to talk with powerful personalities from any
influencial clan then at least there are honest people there in parliament
and they could listen . They may not change a lot but they can say at least
something. For example Nodar Natadze. He is willing to listen people? Is he
in parliament or I am forgetting something?

I too heard that they are changing Georgian flag. Of course this is all
on level of roumor, but I was wondering if there was any official
announcement about that in Georgia? As I understand it will be a big
cross dividing flag in four parts and little crosses in each corner,
don't know anything about colors. Does anyone know more details? Who is
involved in design, etc.
thanks

The flag is already adopted by Parliamnet and
there were almost no discussions. The flag contains
5 crosses, one big, and 4 small. The flag looks like
red cross sign, commonly used in hospitals,
ambulances, etc.

You mean the St. George's flag, the one that appeared alongside the
Georgian Republic flag much of the time back in 1990? Like this?

So this is the "new" official flag now?

Lexo likes to be circuitous and misterious a la spinx. When did this
happen, is there a date, a law? The Parliament website says nothing
about it. I haven't heard anything about this, although I don't doubt
its imminence.

I don't know whether you meant this or not, but you bet it looks like
the Red Cross sign, the entire country is like a madhouse, and the story
with the flag is a good example of this.
Here's the flag, with its four crosses, though even if we were to put
10 crosses on it, it would not turn Georgia into Switzerland, whose flag
is the basis for the Red Cross flag.
