Hello all,

does someone knows a source of the Symbolics Leonardo Grafic System
(S-Geometry, S-Dynamics, S-Render and S-Paint).

The Symbolics graphics software was purchased by Nichimen
and ported to SGI and Windows. The newest version is called
Mirai and is currently being developed by Izware (www.izware.com).

I think it got bought by Nichimen (?) and became the N-products
(having been the S-products before). I'm fairly sure they saw some
ongoing development, but they are likely dead now.

While the software and team were at Nichimen, the S-Graphics system (I
never realized the whole thing was called Leonardo) was ported to CL,
had it's own custom GUI written (or so I gather), and saw extensive
development (and an almost complete re-write as Mirai 1.0) right until
they closed shop and the assets were bought by Winged Edge/Izware (I
think that this company is owned by some of the Symbolics developers
that stayed on at Nichimen). No new releases have happened since 2000,
but now there is good news. Barton Gawboy posted a message* describing
some stuff Izware has been up to, mainly a custom plug-in for Weta
(Mirai was used to make most of Gollum's face). Right now the software
isn't being sold and most of the information on the site (including
the high price) is quite out of date. Hopefully they will start
selling the new version this year.

Update:

izware, formerly nichimen, moved all original tapes of the s-product
line into trash.

Has someone this code still available?
