I have been reading this newsgroup for a bunch of weeks and have found
it most entertaining and very informative.
I collect moths and love pickles.

The official mascot of a.s.a-d.: the pickleworm moth.

Is there a picture? I'd like to make it one of my backgrounds. :-)

Welcome.
Thanks and welcome.

Down in Texas, we know wrong from right
Work out all day and party all night
We say "Yes sir" and "Thank you ma'am"
If you don't like that we don't give a damn
We do things the way we think we should
'Cause we live down in Texas where life is good.

Ooooooo! I think I feel the muse stirring. "Ode to the Pickleworm Moth"
may be my next writing project!

Nothing about the pickleworm moth on ASAD's unofficial reference site,
"The Probert Encyclopedia"
http://www.probertencyclopaedia.com/index.html.
But, there's information on Diaphania nitidalis at
http://creatures.ifas.ufl.edu/veg/pickleworm.htm including a photo!
While not flashy, the pickleworm moth is described as "fairly
distinctive in appearance." I think the brushy hairpencils are a nice
touch.

Unique, like everyone else
<grin>...sounds like you'll fit in....tell me, how do you manage to keep
your moths under control?
Buny
Somebody needs to e-mail Mark and let him know he "forgot" one....

I notice that there was something missing under "Natural
enemies"...shouldn't there be "stimulant medications and behavior- and
environmental-modification techniques" on that list as well?
Buny
I have this weird intuitive feeling that Mark already knows.

But, Buny, those would seem to be survival enhancing adaptations, but
enemies.
I would think additional enemies would include: trolls, $cienos,
Breggenites, anti-meders, and "all natural" spammers. There may be more.
Doh! *Not* enemies, not "but enemies."
I saw these as "driving away moths"...

And these merely make them swarm all the more....
Buny
is herding moths harder than herding cats?

What's the right answer? Cause I do both. If I'm in a mood to argue with someone, I'll go play with a troll. :-)

Well, if you keep a troll for a pet (as many of us do...), you do have to
play with it and feed it, because if you neglect it, it will go away....
....speaking of which, our troll with multiple personalities seems to have
found greener pastures-one can hope!

He poked his head in, but seems to be staying away for the most part. I
think he finally got medicated.

In other words, you'll ignore the rules and try to do everything at once.
I don't know if that's a right answer, but it does sound like ADD. :-)

Speaking of that, my parents used to use pickles as a test for mumps.
Ever eat a dill pickle with a case of mumps? YEEEOooooowwww!
(Supposedly I had 'em twice...)
